So I'm picking up my new DD on Sunday. 05 auto with Grand Sport widebody, Z06 wheels (12" out back!), and big brake kit (6 piston).

Plan is to rock this for a little bit and when I'm done with the Cobra build to swap to a loaded LS3 M6 and transfer the GS body and brakes over. Do a quick HCI, gear change, and full exhaust and call it a day!

I still have my 96 carb'd and cammed cobra race car and infiniti G35 as well...but trying to sell the infiniti.

I have known a couple of guys that DD a vette, for a short time that is... They all said that just getting in/out and the rough ride eventually wore them out on the idea of owning a vette. Cool lookin car no doubt.

You're gonna forget about the carbed and cammed race car when you start modding that C6. Looks great.

Brakes the size of dinner plates, awesome! I don't think I'd own one with a slushbox tho, even though it is a PITA for DD.

Sick ride... I love the c6 vette . ttocs have you been in a c6 your friends must be out to lunch saying it's a rough ride , way smoother then any mustang jalopy we roll around in . Most people drive mustangs because they can't afford a corvette ...

Thanks guys!

As for the ride, I'll have to wait until I drive it on familiar roads to have a comparison basis but it seemed to ride pretty smooth. Not as smooth as my G35 but smoother than my cobra. For handling, it blows the other two out of the water!

The other car I was looking at were Vipers, but I decided that it would be too much for a DD. Blind spots, requires full attention at all times, etc. I'm a young athletic kid, so climbing in and out is not a concern of mine.

Excited to pick it up tomorrow around noon! I'll be posting more pictures.

'Vettes are one of my bucket list cars.

As for criticism on ride, my father in law has an '04, and it's not a rough ride whatsoever. Firm, absolutely, but GM figured out how to do a stiff chassis with the C5, which allowed for softer suspension tuning while still giving excellent handling- the suspension isn't compensating for a floppy frame like it had to on the C4.

Excellent buy, I'd take the emblems off and just leave the rest as-is.

Lol! Some of us just don't want a Corvette.

Agreed it is in a different class. Phenomenal car for the money (c5 on up) but I wouldn't own one.

Not a fan of "murdered out" anything, but I like Corvettes in general. I've thought about getting a ZR1 actually, but since I pretty much don't drive any of my cars now anyway, it probably doesn't make much sense to spend even more money. Plus, Corvettes are a pain in the balls to work on.

Still, cool car. I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Needs more turbo.

Paul.
