Hey guys, I have a question about blocks and heads. There are romeo and windsor blocks, and romeo and windsor heads. Do they have to match or can romeo heads go on a windsor block, and vise versa ? Thanks
what was the difference between romeo blocks and windsor blocks? i'm talking about the shortblock only of course. i didnt know there was a difference. anyone???
where they're made. I know one has more valve cover bolts, other than that, I'm not sure. One get's more action?
i believe the only difference in romeo and windsor motors are the valve covers and one comes with bolt on cam gears and the other doesnt
i know that i'm talking about the block itself not the heads. is there any difference between windosr and romeo blocks?
windsor and romeo heads and blocks are interchangable as long as you get the correct valve covers and timing cover bolts for whatever head you use. windsor blocks are said to be slightly more stout...come with 8 bolt crank (not forged) and have a different main cap bolt system (something with the side screws) that adds alittle strenth. I had windsor heads on my romeo block...now i have windsor heads going on a Teksid Cobra block.
Bingo! Thanks droptop, thats the diff between blocks that I was thinking about ( The main caps side bolts). I knew there was a diff but could not remember if it had to do with the heads. Great so any head with any block, beauty.
