I've got a 98 GT and out of the blue it has started eating EGR pressure sensors. For 24+ years it has had the factory EGR pressure sensor. Recently it failed. The car sounded like it had a huge exhaust leak. I scanned the code with FORScan and it said the sensor was not working. Upon replacing it, I noticed that the original had melted on the opposite side of where the wiring plug is located. That replacement lasted about 3 weeks before the check engine light came on again. Scanned again with the same result. Got a second replacement and installed it but it only lasted 4 weeks. There did not appear to be any damage to the sensor(s), with the exception of the original. Now I'm on my third replacement in as many months; has anyone else ever had an issue like this? If so, what was the resolution? I don't feel like replacing an EGR sensor every month and it's getting pretty aggravating. I bought the sensor from AutoZone and it has a lifetime warranty, so it has only cost me a half-hour of time, each time, and the original purchase price of $89. But, as I mentioned, it's getting old really quickly.
