My builder gave me some ideas for a build on my stock 5 liter. Heads, cam and intake along with a tune. Parts are as follows. AFR185cc heads Holley systemax intake custom ground cam 24lb injectors shorty headers fuel regulator and a chip burn and tune. What TQ and Hp numbers should I be prepared for? Anybody have any experience with this setup?

sounds good, but I would run long tube headers not shortys with that setup and 24lbers might be to small, upgrade to 30lb injectors, if so depending specs on that " custom" cam, and compression/ tune you can make around 320-350rwhp. with aggressive tune/ compression and long tubes 350-380rwhp.

compression, cam specs, tune will very numbers

That exact setup you posted might be 270-320rwhp.

but if you upgrade to longtubes good tune/ more compression then stock, and healthy cam specs good tune 320-350rwhp all day.

Never mind, I'm gonna just look it up instead of making other people do my homework.

I wanted to run the same setup but my engine guy told me that the AFR185's would require different pistons for clearance or have the stock pistons notched. I bought a new bottom end from 50resto that comes with stock style pistons. I didn't have the extra money for new pistons so I instead bought AFR165's, the Systemax intake and a real good cam with a tune using the Diablo chip. Mine made 306rwhp and 331rwtq.

Yeah. I should have quoted hottwheels04 where he said that baby combo needs big bad long tube headers to be good.
