So far, I have only driven my 95 GT 5.0 sensibly. Today, I let it all hang out and shifted at higher RPMs and drove pretty fast. When I got back home there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. No visible oil or fuel leakage. No drips under the car. I then took it out later and drove sensibly. No smoke when I got to my destination. Any ideas what this could be?

Check the valve cover gaskets. They leak oil onto the exhaust causing smoke. Was the temp fine or did it run hot?

Probably got it hot enough to burn off anything that had leaked or built up. The "Italian tune-up".

Yes. I removed the strut tower brace so I could lift the intake plenum to replace the vacuum line to the evap solenoid. I sprayed PB Blaster on the bolts. I think maybe some of it dripped down on the exhaust pipe.
