Hey guys, i got a 96 Mustang gt with a non pi engine. I am contemplating having a little fun with it now. I figure getting rid of those non pi heads and intake, i want to establish if a new edge 4.6/manual swap into my chassis is a direct swap. Game plan is to bumper mount a single turbo with a megasquirt. I am looking to find out if a new edge 4.6 manual swap will bolt in my frame and have basically identical electric hookups.

Yes but also no. Mechanically it will all be nearly the same but the new edge has different speedometer connections.

If i am correct, the new edges were all 6speeds and autos. Is it possible to use a different speed sensor to use that for my speedo? Mine is a 2 wire currently.

Only the Cobras had six speeds in 99-04!

White pretty much got you. Only the cobras got the 6 speed. 99-00 got the t45 like the 96-98, then 01+ got tr3650, both units being 5 speed. Putting the newer trans in the car would require a vss to oss converter to make the speedometer work.

I was going to look for a wrecked car with the hopes of just getting a donor car for everything.
