You have a 5.0 right?
Personally I think the SLP loudmouths only sound good on modulars and when catless. The loudmouth 1 catback is very raspy and having cats & an x-pipe will make it even raspier. Also, SLP's are basically a glorified straight pipe. They are just meant to shatter people's hearing, nothing more.
I would look for some borla stingers or some magnaflows. Those are my other 2 personal favorites.
+1 on Magnaflow. Read an article a LONG time ago from 5.0 mag and they did a muffler shootout. Magnaflow was the second highest in Hp gains (only losing by a couple tenths) and quietest and cruising while loudest at WOT. It was a no brainer for me.
I have Pypes Violator's catback behind my Bassani catted X.
The mufflers are flow through, and are quiet at idle, very mimimal drone and only at 55mph, Aparently they're much louder outside than inside the car under full throttle. They were really loud with the o/r h installed.
The sound is different than the usual exhausts you hear on mustangs. but not in a bad way either.

Oh man IDK. I bought it brand new in 2002 so whatever they were selling then... Been a long minute but they are still on the car and looking/sounding amazing.Did you get the Magnapack Catback System?
Slp 1's or magnapacks. I have regular magnaflows with my catted x magnaflow mid pipe on my 5.0. Im gonna go slp1 because i wanna go louder. The slp's will sound much cleaner and probably louder and raspier as its hallow rather than straight piping like u currently have. Magnapacks are also almost as loud but deeper.
Just a heads up. SLPs really don't sound that great on 5.0s - better off with magnapacks

Personally I like the sound of the slps on 5.0's. If its catted its fine, but no cats it seems to be just noise.
Wait... who is doing that?if anyone is making a decision on which catback to get, based on how much HP you are going to gain.. no.. just no.
