Hey guys I was wondering what exhaust should I get after when I put my off road x pipe. The ones I’ve been interested in are Flowmaster Outlaw dumps, Super 44 dumps, Super 44 catback, Pypes pype bomb catback, and Pypes violator catback. I picked these two brands because it fit my budget.

So I’d appreciate the suggestions

Sound is so subjective. Watch some videos on YouTube and see what you like best.

I’ve ran an x pipe with super 44’s with and without tailpipes and Pypes m80’s (pype bombs) and my favorite was the m80’s. They’re tame at idle but have some bark when you step on it. Flowmasters give that signature Mustang sound but are too common imo. I liked it when I dumped them but it was really loud all the time.

Get the one with the highest quality and nicest looking tails. Once you have a cat back you'll start collecting mufflers like the rest of us. I think I have 5 different sets of mufflers lol.

what's it going on?
A 96 Mustang GT 4.6 2v the thing is that I live in California, so we gotta do a smog check. That’s why was leaning towards the outlaw dumps because it looks like the easiest to install and remove. The previous owner of the car cut the entire stock catback, so I currently have a stock h-pipe midpipe dump setup.

I personally would steer clear of offroad midpipes. They are just too loud, and the smell without cats can get annoying if you have a passenger with you. My setup is the stock midpipe with the main cats removed, but the smaller cats still in place. The mufflers are some sort of Flowmaster design. Has a really nice tone while being quiet enough at low throttle that if you short shift, you make as much noise as any other car out there, and not much more. If I were you, I would get a catted midpipe (H or X, doesn’t matter much), and then choose your mufflers. Your ears, your neighbours, and your passengers will thank you!

The Stang is gonna be a project car for me so I’m fine with the off road xpipe

mac mufflers, if they are still around, are also a cost effective muffler and sound great on a mustang. ebay also usually has these flowmaster knock-offs that are much cheaper and look and sound almost identical to flows.

If the exhaust is currently stock with original cats and tail pipes, deleting the mufflers for a pipe in its place sounds darn good!

Pypes Violator or Flowmaster Super 44? The Pypes catback comes with bigger tips, but flow master got the iconic 2 chamber sound.

I would do a full catback personally.. you can always take the brakes off. Pop thr shocks and let the axle sag and pull the tail pipes off if you really want dumps. I found my buddies car to be irritating to ride in with his cstlrss H and dumped flowmasters. My red car has the same setup but with tail pipes and its not irritating. Still loud outside the car just not stupid loud inside. Plus the tail pipes give it a much better sound quality. As for pypes vs flowmaster, I think super 44s sound pretty sweet

The supper 44 have a deep sound to them
If I pull up to any fast food window with a line
People are asking me to shut the car off so they can order food
Love a deep sounding exhaust

I think I wanna do an off road h pipe with the pype bomb catback. Because I love loud setups. I think the x pipe is gonna sound harsh.
