I tell ya, after working on a buddies 98 cobra and another buddies 04 gt, I soo love my 5.0. Much easier to work on. What a pain in the ass it is to do a header swap on the 4.6.

Any one have any ideas how to get it unstuck.. i have all bolts off and it won't budge..

Got the top 2 off along with all 3 starter bolts (may be 2 if the trans/starter has been out before)? May be a dumb question, but I gotta make sure.
Other than that, it should come out with some wiggling and pulling. Shouldn't take much, though.

If I remember correctly, I had the same problem on my 96 gt. there were some hard to see smaller screws connected to the trans and the metal plate that goes in between the engine and transmission that I forgot to take out

This is why I'm glad I upgraded to a T-56. The separate bellhousing and trans makes things so much easier to pull.

There are two bolts on the bell housing that screw that plate to the trans. Once those two are out, as well as the 7 bolting the trans to the engine, its just wiggling and pulling. A lot of times the input shaft kinda gets frozen in there. Keep wiggling and pulling and it will work its way out. It may help to use a pry bar, but I was able to get mine out just by wiggling/pulling.

But I know your pain. I pulled my trans, got it built, put it back in Saturday and I'm still having issues so its going to be coming out again sometime soon....

This tab hits the passenger floor board when seperated from the engine block. Cuuting it off makes tranny drops ALOT eaiser.

After my long tube nightmare on my '02 GT, I'll pull the motor and tranny. Biggest pain in my ass when I changed out the clutch. It's almost impossible to drop the tranny without taking out right side header. I managed to rotate the tranny so the starter bump wasn't in the way.
