now looking back at the red one, looks like the same thing I am doing although not as drastic and I want it smoothed in a lot cleaner. In my head it will be right when someone looks at it and wonders if it was done, suspects it with the wide wheels but has to ask if it was done to be sure. I will have failed if someone walks right up and says he noticed the flares from across the lot... Just waiting for some friends to pick up some furniture that has been stored in the garage so I can start the fill/sand/repeat dust-making dance.....

I guess all you guys don't seem to understand this is pure function. It wasn't about looks.
Correct, but I don't believe ttocs is going to be used purely as a race car. I think its more for looks in this case, hence the looks comments.

Coming along nicely scott.

You guys were talking about the picture not his take off of the idea.

I like The way Scott took an idea and simple made it flow.

ok so I think everyone is right. The wheel/tire is purely for looks for the most part... I mean I do go too the track a couple time a year and will still want too but that is not what this is for. Now the fender to fit the tire, that is for the function - for the most part :) This project was just as much about the journey as it was the destination as I wanted to see if I could do it.....

Well, whatcha think did I do it?

its in there....

And how long will it be till we see more of the side vents smoothed in? LOVE EM!!!!

I call it a success, now to finish the drivers side....

By any chance do you have an exact measurement of how large the flare is from stock?

Hmm, I'll have to see how it looks painted and the whole car done.
Definitely digging this whole build, so much custom.

I'm liking everything but handles. Seems out of place

I thought about putting the black primer on them just so they would not stand out so much against all the dark colors.

In the end I got an extra 1/2" according to what I measured. I didn't get a pic because I was using a tape measure hooked to the hole where the shock goes up, so the tape was facing down. I had to mark the spot with my hands and then flip it too see it.

I posted those pics on the facebook page yesterday one at a time with the subj "notice anything different?". I am happy too say that they noticed everything but the flare until the last pic with that slightly unfinished edge showing at the back. So I call it a success visually now it will kill me to have too wait to see if I can fit the wider wheel/tire back there with out mini-tubing it....
