It is. Born a v6, the 90s decade had it being a rental car, then a car for a woman who “only drove it to church,” to a 16yo high school girl’s daily. Exactly 22 years ago yesterday my father purchased the car. From there, it went onto being in the schools 99/00 homecoming parade, to driving to/from TX/CA, to honeymoon to/from TX/FL, to car shows, to autocross.
...still a disrespected v6 though, so in 2008 I gave it the engine it always should have had, but that little 3.8 was still a great motor, at 168k, so I sold it. The current 5.0, which has been rebuilt a few hundred miles before, has been in my car for a little over 30,000 miles. Since the car is neither cobra nor GT, I have 1968 302 pony tribar emblems on its fenders. It’s an homage to the v6 tribar emblem, but still advertises its 302ness.
