~FORD RACING SUPERCHARGER~

Hey, I was wondering if anybody knew if the powergains from a ford racing supercharger are any good? Its the roots style charger same as the roush I think. It says it only gains 55hp. Does anyone have a dyno sheet, or web site, or know anybody that has this on their car? 55hp just doesn't hardly seem worth it to me!

you gain about 75-80 with the stock 6psi pulley and closer to 100 with a 9psi pulley. Its a good blower for street cruising but won't get you to 500hp...

There are 2 versions...one for 96-98 with stock heads and another for 96-98 with PI heads (the one i have)

You can order them from www.downsford.com and don't forget its a 2 part kit...the Blower runs around $2300 and the install kit is another $1000

I made 422/402 w/ that blower on a 04GT longblock w/ full exhaust and cams. The blower isn't a direct bolt on and requires a COMPLETE installation kit, as it requires relocation of the alternator and some other things. All of the upper radiator hoses are different, along w/ the IAC hose and more..

here's my dyno sheet:

Nice numbers.

Was that a loaded dyno, or corrected numbers?

As with any power mod, the NPI heads WILL be a considerable restriction!
55 HP at 6 PSI through NPI's is sadly right.

Loaded means there's resistance to truely measeure the power output as it would be in driving on the road.

non loaded or drum dyno's measure it without resistance.

I think it's 15-20% difference.

So my car that just dyno'd on a loaded at 400 HP, would be over 460 on a drum dyno.
