Then me and Brian made the long haul down to Jim's house to meet up before headed onto the fun. Had to fill the bastards up of course, Mustang problems!

A 13 sec Cummins in my rear view. Damn this thing comin atcha can be frightening haha. One of the most badass trucks I've seen shame I didn't get a better picture of it

1167946_4693012582878_850562354_n.jpg

And the last pic I got was in the staging lanes of my first run. Yes I ran that truck next to me. 6.4 Powerstroke... You wouldn't believe how bad I got my ass kicked by it...

Now for the time sheets! First one was against that 6.4. Mother ****er ran a 13.1. Thought for sure I'd beat a big heavy ass truck on my first ever run. NOPE!!

1232605_4693947846259_1365716185_n.jpg

Had a horrible reaction time, and not so great other times. Realized after I took off that traction control was on DOH! But hey it was my first run so I didn't let it bother me. Learn from my mistakes lol

Round 2 was against Brian's 01. By far the most fun I had all night. I was catchin his ass like white on rice!

1305293_4693950246319_1277230510_n.jpg

And last run was up against Jim's bone ass stock 98 Cobra lol... Dude has some serious driver mod. Tried a little peel n squeal this time, as well as a legit launch. Got my reaction down to damn near perfect (I guess perfect for this track is a .5) but missed 3rd!!

All in all I can't wait to get back out on the track again and have some more fun. I'm usually a street racer so this whole legal racing thing is a blast. Especially with a good group of guys to run with and bs with while waiting. Might have a vid or 2.. And I know Jim has some good shot's that I'll get posted up.

Can't lie that's definitely the best way I can think of to spend a Friday night. Sorry for the long thread just had to share my fun with you homos! :)

congrats dude!!! LOL@gas pump fail... :p

and how is .5 a "perfect" reaction time at your track? Ours is .000 -- .001 is the lowest I've seen (motorcycle)

Is Brian the guy with trick flow heads and shit? If so those times are off bad. That track slick or what? Everyone's 60's are up there too.

takes us as humans .5 secs to react to light thats why there is a .5 sec delay between light changes on a tree. hence why you dont launch on green or else your RT is junk. Now RT means dick at the end of the at test and tune UNLESS you're trying to improve it for an actual event were winning a race is one quite oftenly at the tree. Also there is deep stagin which will help your RT if your working on that but will hurt your overall ET, but when your racing heads up the RT boost helps you win the race if your good enough at reacting. Heres a little bit I cooked up. Oh and as for the .000 as opposed to the .5 being perfect thats just a new system although NHRA is still using .5 for now.

There are three amber lights which lead to the start followed by the green light. These will light up .5 seconds apart. DO NOT LAUNCH ON THE GREEN LIGHT! The reaction timer starts on the third amber light. A perfect reaction time is thus .5 seconds because this is the time between the third amber light and the green light. Now, the problem here is that we humans have about a .5 second reaction time between when the light is lit and when we react to that and start driving. This means that if you go when you see the green, your reaction time will be about 1 second. The solution? Launch when you see the third amber light. Since this is about .5 seconds before the green, and your reaction time is about .5 seconds, you will have a near perfect launch (assuming you get a good launch). Of course this will vary from person to person, for example if you have good reaction time, you may launch too soon. You'll have to find your spot, but start on the third amber your first time out.

So, my point is:

"theorectically speaking"
Let's say you react early and you react .350 seconds after the green light engages, wont the slip read: " RT - 0.350 " -- not " RT - 0.500 "

?

granted again this makes no matter at the test and tune just seeing what you get for time. wether you red light or not has zero effect on your time unless for some reason the flashing of the red light distracts you from hitting the gas again.

Nice job man!

The times don't mean anything, that's the driver/traction. The MPH tells you about your mods. His is in line being 95/96MPH.

I bet if you can get the 60's under 2.0 it will definitely have low 14s, maybe even eek out a high 13.

I guess maby I should be happy with my last run in my tbird after my tune, 14.69 so far is my best but its usually 14.8 14. low 9... and ya street races are way diff than track no doubt..i win most street races because I don't have to race out of a stand still, and that really helps my tank of a car.

Haha if 1: I knew how to drive and 2: track was in better condition I would have hit high 13s. Rich said it himself the speeds show lol
