i was wondering wat the stock gears are in a 96 gt and wat gears would be best
3.27 Was my stock gear.
I'm going with 3.73, I will find out this spring if I made the right choice.
like said the 327's are prob stock or at least 308's
I would go with 410's on the gears though, unless you do a LOT of highway driving.
mine had 2.73's I went with 4.10s
i do a fair amount of highway drivin i was leanin for either 3.73 or 3.90
2.73's or an optional 3.27... And I wish I went 4.10 or 4.30's instead of these 3.73's
i had 2.73's and i jumped up to 3.73's. I drive 3 hours to college everyweekend and my RPM's are about 2500 when cruising on the highway. They are a nice boost for the daily driver and i would go any higher than that.
I think 3.27 was an option until '99. Then it was standard. I still have 3.27 as an option on my new purchased '98. I won't go above 3.73 on my supercharger but I'm thinking I'll stay 3.27 or 3.55 cause I plan on a 14psi pulley and maybe nitrous on top of it for the track.
I dont know what my 98GT has Probally 3.27 but i just recieved my 4.10s from American Muscle today. I hope to have them installed next week.
I had 2.73's, then there was 3.08 and 3.27
I went with 3.73 since i knew i'd be getting a PD blower.
woah double post :dunno:
No, triple post!
I almost did too... something with the server tonight.
I have a set of 3.73's I'm putting in. I plan on keeping it NA for awhile. I got the gears for free so I can't complain.
I've got 373's.
If your a stick and staying NA, I'd go 410's
either way, you'll like it.
4.10's on the highway your gonna be around....2800 or so right? how much gas do you burn up?
mine had 2:73's I went with 3:73's
Mine has 2.73's. I have a set of 3.55's in the box waiting to be installed. I am going to do a supercharger once the PI swap is done and I drive about 40 miles to work on the highway everyday so I am not going higher.
