Oh, the best way is to snatch the cover off and look............but you can jack up the rear, mark the drive shaft, turn the tires and count how many times the shaft spins for one revolution of the tires. That will be hard to tell exactly since your either at 308 or 327's, the 327's would spin a little farther than the 308's

Most likely they were 2:73's (mine were), but decode the vid for the exact.

you're going to love that speedcal.

go hit an interstate highway with mile markers and set your trip meter at a marker. check the odometer after 10 miles. mine reads 9.9 miles and that's within 1%.

the Motive 3.90's are okay. im pretty happy with mine but like i said before if i was going to do it again i'd spend the money and go with Ford Racing 4.10's. theyre easier for the mechanic to install, quieter and pull harder :thumb:

when you install gears whatever you go with be sure to pick up at the least a new set of bearings. i bought my gears and got the 8.8" Master Shim Kit with Bearings at: http://www.brenspeed.com/mustang_46/rearend.html
