Just watched the video of LMR starting the 7.3 Godzilla engine they swapped into a Fox body. Sounded nice with the open headers. But I'm not sure what the point is. The engine is huge and designed for trucks. I'm not convinced it will perform very well. And it probably cost twice as much as a 427W build.

Well my 92 gt fox body with 460 interceptor c6 trans
9 inch rear axel with 373 gear was putting down mid 12s
Thats a big engine that came out of a t bird 78
That car had all the performance parts on it
4 wheel disc brake an oil cooler a trans cooler
A 750 holly carb

At a time I had my tunnel ram on that engine
With 2 holly 850 double pumpers

So ya with the right stuff I believe that engine will perform well

are we talking actual size or the total displacement that is the problem?
The physical size. It's bigger and heavier than the Windsor, maybe even the FE. Plus the heads are designed for torque. Probably be awesome in a 4x4. Just not convinced it brings anything to the table in this application.

while yes it is bigger/heavier it still fits in a mustang and it is hard to ignore how easy they broke 1000hp with them.

I'm sure it makes power. But there are 1,000 hp small blocks. I imagine it does have a better bore/stroke ratio than a stroked Windsor. Maybe longer rods. That probably counts for something.

seems like this could be a good time, if it hooks up.

Although I have a neighbor with a friend that has one with a 427 in it, and the side pipes on it took a bite out of his leg this summer.
