pretty much every race sanctioning body outlawed the fan setup years ago. Have a fan issue during a run and you're in for a horrible crash.

yes they are dependent on the sides being SUPER close to the ground and when there is too much space and suction is lost it goes from amazing traction to NONE. I didn't know about the fan the first time I saw it run and wondered how he went past the wall section with out seeming to let up at all.
