Running in sportsman. At an eighth mile track. Average .041 reaction. Runs easily faster than the index. So lots of fender racing. Ended up with my very first wally

Great work and great times.
Do you have a build thread or can you divulge into the setup?
My goal for my SN is to get it down to your times.
Best I've gone is an 8.1 @ 88.9

Your not far off. The car has a 393w stroker. Small 235/240 @ .050. 595 lift hydraulic roller. Profiler heads. Victor Jr intake 850 CFM carb. C-6 with 3000 stall. 3.73 gears. For shoes. 275/60-15 Hoosier drag radials. Rear seat delete. MMD. Roll cage,. Upr Steel front k member with afco 90/10 struts, 200# springs. Upr adjustable. Arms. In the rear. Just did a refresh on engine. And a new C-6 from broader performance with a 4000 10" stall. And with the 28" tire. Going 411. Gears. That way I should go thru the traps. Right at my max rpm. On 1/4 mile runs. Hoping to drive my 1/8 et down to 720-730. Then I'll add weigh to go back to 750 1/8 and 12.0 qtr, not ready to step up in class yet. The static compression is right at 11.0-1. The profiler is similar in performance to the afr 205 heads . The cam is a custom grind. Rotating assembly is scat crank. Eagles H 6.200 rod and a flat top piston. Old probe SRS series ( no longer available) if your racing 1/8 mile only. I think the air- gap dual plane, Cleaned up a bit. Will give you better off the line torque and. Be more consistent. I ran one for a bit. But the engine wanted much more air. My best with the dual plane was 7.28 in qtr 11.55. But. The single plane for me. Gave me more repeatable times. I know a lot of guys running 7.50 with all cast motors running either 69/70 351w heads or the gt 40 heads. And 430/456 gears. But if your driving to tracks. Live with a bit less ET and run 373 with a 26" tire. That equates to the same as a guy with 28" and 411

what was the set up on the car?
My 98 had a 74 351w block bored to 393 decked .020, profiler heads, scat crank, H beam rods and racetec flat top pistons 1.360 ch. C6 with 3000 stall and 373 gears. Now it's .040 over bigger cam Comp hydraulic Roller. a broader performance C6. Fti 3800 converter. 4.30 gear. I run 28x10-15 drag radial. So far my best 60ft is 1.5, 4.60 330. 7.2 1/8. Shift at 6000, racing in a index class. Shifting as low as 5000 it pulls through the traps at 5300 in the 1/8 runs 7.45-7.5 Haven't ran 1/4 with the current setup. Engine will pull hard to about 6700
