I cleanded up this car for a friend of mine.

It was a big job, he has 4 kids, small driveway, and is very busy, so his paint was hammered.
he also drives 50 miles to work a day.
Once i took a close look at it I wasn't sure If I wanted to do all that work.

But I did....

washed and clayed it, because it was sooo dirty, tar, bugs, etc.
the front I didn't do much to since 25% of the paint is chipped off.

there's swirl, then there's spagetti!

I didn't take a ton of pics, but these are some bad spots, swirl all over the car, scuffs, scratches etc.

So, full 5 stage polish

2 passes with SSR3 on the whole car.

here's 2 passes on the deck.

Here's the whole thing roughed up on course polish.
I looks kinda dull, but that's normal.

So, 2 passes with SSR3 - course

2 passes with SSR2.5

2 passes with SSR2 - meduim abrasive

2 passes with SSR1 - fine

2 passes with PB ultra fine

Final with EX sealer/wax.

If it was my car, I would have started all over, but for him it's good.

It was getting dark, so you can't see that there 's some swirl, and a bunch of the scratches are sitll visible, but it's
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAy better than it was.

Hes happy with it,
I spread it over the weekend, took me 10 hours.

Polished to SSR1

Does PB SSR line dust pretty bad for you?? The times that I have used it, it dusted it pretty good. I'm thinking of trying Optimum's compound and polish. From what I'm reading it dust less and has longer working time and finishes real good.

ya know, aplying with the terry's, the wipe down would dust a good amount, especially on the heavy polishes.
but with the edge pads, there's less residue to wipe down, some dust on the heavy and medium polish, probably around 1/3

Good too know I've been die to use my Edge pads I just never have anytime to do a full detail. My stang is all swirled up again but I just haven't had enough time to do a full swirl removal, polish, and seal....I need to make time as winter is fats approaching so my winter combo need to be applied....

The only polishes i have tried are optimum polish and there compound. No dusting at all. I have used the edge 2k pads and the optimum with good results

Ouch, sorry man.
I could have used your high speed buffing skills on this.

How did it turn out?

lets just say i didnt bother to take pics. they paid for an interior detail (came out beautiful) and a wax... they got what they paid for. i suggested some other options but they didnt want to spend that kind of money. they are planning on trading it in.

Have you looked into Optimum polishes? They do not dust and can be worked in longer than most polishes. The Poorboys SSR's work great but have a lot of dusting. I still use Poorboys every once in a while but the Optimum line are my go to polishes now.

No, I haven't tried them.

I'm very happy with the SSR1 on up polishes.
The 2 and 3 are harder to remove, but that may be the case with any medium polish.

I'll have to give them a try once These run out.

Got any before and after pics?

Sorry I don't have many before pics. My wife is always on me about this. I take a lot of after pics though. The Cobra had bad waterspots and swirls on the hood. The F150 was also swirled pretty bad. Here are some pics.

This last picture was a before but I couldn't get all the blemishes to show up on the picture.
