A couple of weeks ago I was offered an opportunity to do a special detail, for a special client, in a very special location. I got a call from Paul (the head guy at Chemical Guys) asking if I was interested in doing a detail for a long time client. I accepted the offer and was told the car was a Rolls-Royce that had just been bought a few weeks before. I accepted the job and very excited for what I was going to see. I was even able to detail the vehicle in the Smart Detailing University Training Facility while also being able to try out alot of new Chemical Guys products including the V36 and V38 Optical Polishes. This was also the first time I was able to try washing a car using a waterless system completely indoors. The car was washed and prep?d using Chemical Guys Ecosmart Waterless wash. I was honestly impressed with how easy the car was to wash if the correct technique is used for waterless washing.

The vehicle the client had just purchased was a 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost in a beautiful color called diamond black metallic. The client was very concerned about the car because it was only 3 weeks old with only 500 miles on the clock, yet the entire vehicle was covered in light wash marring and holograms caused by an inexperienced detailer using a wool pad on this brand new Ghost.

The vehicle received a full prep, then a 2 step paint correction using V36 and V38. The paint was polished out using a green paint with V36 which removed all the marring and light swirls very easily. Unlike other polishes that sling dust powder everywhere as the polish begins to break down, V36 and V38 both had no dusting effects as the polish works into the surface. Zero dust from polishing means I didn?t have to do back over the car cleaning up dust residue on the surface and from inside the cracks and crevices. I can go straight from polishing to waxing and final wipe down without speeding extra time cleaning up the mess from polishing. The vehicle was then refined using V38 on a black hexlogic pad which really made that metallic pop. To top it off i used 2 Coats of Blacklight, 2 Coats of Jetseal109, Followed by a final wipedown with Hybrid V7. I decided to go with only sealants because i wanted the metallic paint to breath and not be muted. I had the opportunity to use the high end KORE wax, but I still decided on Jetseal109 to let the flake stand out and pop.

This is one of the finest jobs I have even completed.... I would say the car got practically 100% perfect correction since the car was so new. The Rolls-Royce factory really puts a great finish on these vehicles!!!

I definitely have to start using those products. I need to find some good wheel stuff and something to keep the wheels cleaner.

great job greg! how does the v36 compare to m105? nice socks btw :)

V36 is not even close to as strong as M105. Its more on the level of Menz SIP. I would NEVER have touched this paint with M105 as it only needed a medium polish. M105 is just WAY to strong.

V36 and V38 also have Zero dust.... Unlike M105 which dusts super hardcore.
