Hi everyone, my name is Leo, just figured I'd move over here due to my finding my latest project.
Been a while since I played with the old 5.0 but I am as excited as can be.

A little about me, a mustang fanatic, as I am sure everyone here is.
Just finished my 8 years in the Army, and moved to Oregon to be with my wife.

I love modding, doing research, and of course driving my cars.

Hope to get busy with my build and am glad to say I finally found myself a nice 5.0 with the good old Sn95 body style!

Again hello and I am hoping to get started!:headbang:

11B, then switched to 14T as a reenlistment option.
Spent some time in Afghanistan, and a 14T "deployment" in Qatar....smh

As for the build, I am sure I'm going to catch hell. HAHA most people on the net do.
Perhaps my build plans are too modest. That seems to piss people off to not go nuts.

Im curious as to the plans you have for the car. I also like pissing people off with my build.

I don't actually pick it up til the 31.
Buying it off old lady for $2800...was her husband's car.
Waiting for her to finish with arrangements, and a little time. Not gonna run up and say hey, I'm here to grab your husband's car. I told her I would pick it up when she was ready to part with it. She asked if after the funeral was ok.

It was mechanically sound, everything(interior) works, no rust, leaks, knocks, or coolant loss, and it is stock. Just got some mileage on it. She assured me it was his baby since buying it off the showroom floor. 160K.

As for plans, what seems to get people is I don't want a stroker, I don't want to blow it, I don't want massive HP.
I want to clean it up, and enjoy it. I would say ideally 300RWHP, it won't be tracked, I just like having a good bench number.
But honestly as long as I can produce around at least 300 Torque, I'd be happy.
I just miss my 5.0, and I love they way they sound, drive, cost :p

Basically a cruiser.

I am sure the only flak I will catch is brand of parts , and my cosmetic choices.
I have a look in mind. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I learned along time ago , you can't please everyone, but I think at least it will be considered tasteful.

Sound like a good plan.
I'm getting parts together for a budget upgrade on my 5.0. I'll be using GT40p heads and Gt40 intake from an exploder matched to a TFS stage 1 cam.
That should get to the #'s your looking for.
make a build thread and good luck.

I am planning on GT40s as well, but the aluminum X set.
Looking on ebay for either a GT40 Intake or a stock 94-95 Cobra intake.
Haven't decided on a cam.

I am sure to catch hell for this, but I am heavily leaning on FRPP for my build.
Not the absolute best, but for my plans they fit nicely, and well I used the 306 Crate motor and 93 cobra intake on my 89, loved the setup, ran fast and hard. Not sure if the E cam is what I'd go for this time, maybe the B with 1.7s, may be a better match. But I haven't decided on a cam.
(I know the mass hatred of Alphabet cams) But again, leaning towards a Ford Racing build, money isn't the factor, just prefrence.
And thank you guys for the warm welcome, looking forward to sponging knowledge and talking cars.

Welcome! Sounds like you have nice plans for it. Pissing people off only makes it better, so more power to you haha

Greetings from Houston. I have the same plans as you pretty much! I want to see how fast I can get my 5.0 with only an all ford engine! no trick flow or Holley or any thing else... Except for the crane cobra rockers... Those count as ford lol.

Not the best shot but I took it on the phone. Could use some paint and the cosmetics I have planned. But it's a solid start.
