Help out a newb...

Had the gears swapped out in my 96 GT to 3.73 the day after I bought it. I knew going into it that my speedo was going to be off due to the 3.73 gears. I was looking online and it says that some mustangs you can buy a tuner and correct the speedo and some you need a new gear in the trans. How do I tell what I have? Anybody know what part I need if I need a new gear in the trans or what tuner works the best. Thanks in advance for any help.

Tuner wont correct the speedo until 99 mustangs, but you still have two options.
The gear in the transmission, need to know auto or stick.
Or you can buy a speedo calibration box.

It's a 5 speed.

White 23 tooth gear should make it correct.
I have 4.10 gears and its still a little off, but should be perfect for 3.73s.
Very easy install, took about 10 minutes total.

Or you can do the speedo calibration tool.

I love the ford racing speed cal, but it costs more than a plastic gear.....

I got the speed cal box from American muscle and I wouldn't have it any other way.
