I have a 1994 Mustang GT 5.0 5Spd Manual
Powerdyne supercharger from Ford Motorsports
Superchips Tuner chip
24LB Injectors

My MAF Went bad. Well it came like that but I drove it home didn't think much of it. The car runs like crap idles jerky and turns off. If I adjust the screw on the throttle body it revs too high in neutral
Have tried different MAF, LMAF, SCT BA2600. With almost all the MAF I try the car will not even turn on. With the SCT it idles fantastic but bogs down when I give it gas.

My old MAF is completely dead car runs exactly the same with or w/o it plugged in so I'm guessing it's fried. IDK if theres a way to revive it or diag it etc?

It looks like I need to get the vehicle tuned. I cannot for the life of me find anyone who does these anymore especially down here. I am in deep south Texas by the Mexican border.

I have no idea where to go from here but as of right now this thing is undriveable and it's gonna be my daily since I have to get rid of my truck due to budget constraints. If anyone has any kind of advice even just what I would need to rip this out and make it stockish. I can get a MAF for the 24lb and a cold air from SCT that much I know but since the car came like this IDK what I would need to get the alternator back into the right place etc.

Wasn't expecting to hit the wall this hard with this thing it was just a little fun car for me and my son to fix up for him since he's turning 16 soon but it's turning into a necessity for me at the moment and I just want this thing to run supercharger or not.

If anyone has any insight or can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. I can pay for tuning diag (a little tight but I can figure it out if need be) I kind of need this to not be a paperweight in my driveway like it has been for the last 7 months.

Thanks guys and sorry for the long post I didn't know where else to turn. I have tried American Muscle, Lethal Performance, VMP Performance, called SuperChips and they kinda all tell me I'm SOL just cause the age on the car.

I was thinking of just yanking out the blower but then I think I need brackets or parts etc.2024-05-30 20.49.29-1.jpg2024-05-30 20.49.29.jpg2024-05-30 20.50.44-1.jpg2024-02-28 13.40.38.jpg2023-09-14 23.11.36.jpg2023-09-14 23.11.45-2.jpg

i have a blower for mine also and this is what keeps me from putting it on. I know it will just be trouble most likely. Couple of basic things might be worth checking is fuel pressure, timing, spark plug gap, maybe a basic tuneup even. You have to run a tighter plug gap with a blower because the boost will blow the spark out is what I’ve heard before.
If it were me i think I’d look into taking it off for now since you really need to drive it. You can always put it on later and that may be the cheapest best solution to get the car to be usable for now. Wish I could be more helpful but it’s hard to say and yes finding people to deal with these old systems is difficult. Most people will just tell you to go Holley efi, megasquirt, or some other newer fuel injection system which isn’t easy or cheap. Welcome to the forums btw and hang around there are some smart guys in here that may be more helpful.

Welcome to the forum. Personally, I think your best bet is going to be a plug and play megasquirt. It’s a stand alone computer and does not use the MAF sensor. You can tune it for whatever injectors you want.

And tuning options are unlimited. There are plenty of remote tuners that can tune the megasquirt. These cars are getting old to the point that things are difficult to get. Technology is advancing and we aren’t really holding on to the older stuff.

The megasquirt plug and play is a very easy install. They do have cost with them, but anything that is worth doing cost money.

I agree. I found a guy here who can get me set up with the Holly EFI but that's a tad bit out of my budget atm. Probably my best bet is to yank it out.

I can't figure what I need tho. I found the bracket on ebay for the alternator. Guessing I also need a tensioner? I saw about a smog pump but I don't have that so can I eliminate?

does anyone have a pic of the front of one of these engines?

South Texas, Mcallen. And smog pump delete works. I'm just altogether clueless as how this should look since I didn't put the blower in the first place IDK how it would look stock and I can't find any good pics online.

Dont know if this helps much but i found this video. If I remember right thes cars basically have two huge brackets one for each side. Mine is swapped to fox style which i like better. More compact

if you yank the blower off you will probably need to replace the pass side accessory bracket which might take a minute to find.

Are you sure those are 24# injectors? Iirc 24s are blue.
A few things i would try.
Tighten the plug gap to .035
Set timing to 10* BTDC
Pull the sct chip and try running it on the stock ecm with the correct MAF for the injectors your running.
Check and make sure FP is at 40 with vac line off the regulator.
If you need a new tune there is a guy on FB that many say is good cant verify cause ive never used him but his name us Ted Jenkins. He will burn ya a chip for it. If all else fails yank the blower throw on a sn95 passenger bracket and put the front dress back to stock with a stock MAF and injectors.
If money isnt a problem leave everything as is and go standalone.
