Hey guys I've got 10 zillion problems just looking to get pointed in the right direction my weather stripping has lumps in it for some weird reason i take it corrosion in it?
fa30f23355b3b93c32434754f7ef8b2a.jpg

also is there any companies making replacement weatherstripping for our cars yet?

Now to the nitty gritty my booty has a weird gap between the driver side tailight and trunk lid

The seam sealer has popped around the hinges for the trunk if that would have anything to do with it and there's no accidents that im aware of as the back is relatively straight besides this

And other body gap problems like my side skirts ?

My aftermarket cobra hood is also weird as it sinks in i think the hood it self would cause this??

Also i have a weird bumper gap on both sides ? Where the corners dont fit perfectly

Andd last but not least if you actually read this all lol has any one had good luck with depo headlights such as part # 331-1142P-SU2U from DEPO they look like this

Which is the closest thing i can find related to black beauties. If anyone has a picture of these on there car please post up a picture as im not sure if im sold on the corners yet

You only have one problem:
-you own a ford build in the 90s.

None of those problems are out of the ordinary. I wouldn't expect corrosion under your weather stripping, mine has the odd little bumps I think you are referring to.

You can try to fix all the gaps by trying to realign the body parts. However that's just the way it is for lots of things, especially once you add aftermarket pieces.

I don't have the depo lights you are referring to, bUT I have another set of depo headlights and corners. The quality is much better than other aftermarket lights. The weather stripping did fall off my corners but the rubber is much better than any other corners I've had, just put a bit of adhesive on them and they're good to go.

Exactly what orange said man. I have tons of separation between body panels but I kinda just ignore it. Nice ride tho

Lol i think that's my main problem. And yeah the bumps really bug me I'm ocd when it comes to aligning body panels paint imperfections and alright figured as much with the hood the rest is oem pieces and alright sweet ill try and get in touch with DEPO directly but thanks man I'll leave it be till the vinyl comes in

I would need to see a pic of the seem sealer that popped out as that sounds a little more serious. I would guess your car was in an accident at one time myself.

The whole rear of the car is straight except one spot that was hit when the previous owner had valet park it

yea that is what I was afraid of that didn't happen from hitting a bump too fast. The repainting around the trunk lid also has me suspect if you reach around it and feel the inside is it still smooth/straight or is it bumpy on the bottom and straight on the top from filler?

My bad it's fairly smooth i just decided to dip that section as a temporary patch as all the paint was flaking. Would it be easier to strip all of the seem sealer and redo it?

That's very typical of the sealer to do that in the trunk area. That area holds moisture whenever it rains or when you wash the car if you dont dry that area. Sand it down and apply paint or more seam sealer. Its nothing to worry about. I have seen it on every SN I have owned(4 total).

It's almost as if the gaps are twisted on top of eachother as one side i can fit a finger under while the other i cant where its vice versa on the top

Yes, if left to go too far it will rust. But its just surface rust and not rot so if you catch it early you can take care of it and not worry about anything. I actually have to take care of mine very soon as it just started to chip away.

Alright so it's as simple as removing the sealer and treating the rust and adding sealer again?

Haha you can be too critical to body panel lines when you look at the 90's style versions. Your car really isn't bad compared to a lot of other sn's I've seen and your taking close up shots. I'll have to give mine a good look over sometime to see all the gaps and stuff it has.
