I am not sure if any of you have heard of this, seen it, attended it or plan to but here is some more info on the tour. Some of the nicest cars and well known guys will be there. I will be heading down to the Isle Casino in Bettendorf, IA on June 12th and cruising with them up to the Wisconsin Dells on the 13th. Should be a pretty good time. We will be traveling straight through my hometown (Dubuque, IA) on the way from Bettendorf to the Dells which will be pretty cool. A few of my friends will be joining as well. I can't wait! http://powertour.net/04_community_05_tour_2014/04_community_05_tour_2014_intro.html 2014 Cruise Night Schedule Saturday, June 7 zMAX Dragway at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Concord, NC Sunday, June 8 Chillhowee Park Knoxville, TN Monday, June 9 Downtown, Charleston, WV Tuesday, June 10 Summit Motorsports Park Norwalk, OH Wednesday, June 11 Lake County Fairgrounds Crown Point, IN Thursday, June 12 The Isle Casino Bettendorf, IA Friday, June 13 Chula Vista Resort Wisconsin Dells, WI
Also it is $80 to register before March 1st, $90 after or at the day of the event. Should be pretty fun, and get to see a lot of big name people. Last year Tanner Foust, Chip Foose, Vaughn Gitten Jr, etc... were are some of the events.
Best car show I have ever been to!!! I went for the first time in 2008 in Little Rock then drove to it last year in Texarkana and Little Rock again. I had an absolute blast! More sights sounds and smells than my brain could even take in. If it was a lil closer to home this year I'd be goin again!
In 08 I met Kenny Wayne Shepherd and got his autograph. This year it was Courtney Hansen and Vic Edelbrock. And that was just in two days.
I ran my SVO in the 04 and the 06 PTs. Very cool event, definitely a bucketlist thing for any car guy.
Just put in my vacation days for this.:dancing-trooper: Heading down to TN back up to OH. Is the $80 registration for just the car shows? and is that for all the stops or 80 a piece?
May be wrong but that sounds like registration for the Long Haul, all 7 days. I know admission is free for spectators but I'm not sure how much it is just to show up in your ride and park it with the rest. I wouldn't think it'd be more than $20.
It asked if you want to pay the 80 and pick up tickets at the launch, TN, WV, OH, etc and they were all 80. And of course the HotRod website sucks...
Found out some more info. It's $25 per event or $80 for all, regardless if you go to 1 or all of them. BUT with the $80 you get registration for 2 people and one car, a goody bag and a winshield sticker. I might as well pay the $80 since it'd be $75 for three stops anyway.
Just registered for TN to OH. As much as I don't think I will with 4k+ cars, I hope to see some people there! Sent from mah Obamafone
I'm going to go, can't make the whole thing however I'm planning Crown Point back to The Dells. Then back home to Minnesota.
Charleston wv is not too far from me. Who do I call to get details like when they would be leaving charleston?
I am not sure, there may be a phone number on the website, or if your looking for the route it should be posted soon.
Join the Hot Rod Power Tour group on Facebook and ask there that will be your best bet. You will get a response pretty quickly from diehard power tour fans that will know all you need to know.
Leaving for Bettendorf IA tomorrow morning at 6 AM from the Twin Cities! Going to run the last leg on Friday From Bettendorf to the the Dell's.
I was planning on doing the same thing.... The car got put off for too long and now the parts I need to put it back together are still in transit. Oh well I might just have to drive the good old daily driver down and just admire the other cars. Theres always a next year.... hopefully!
