How much power do you guys think i'll put down to the wheels with my car?? Mods: BBK Long tube headers, 3 inch x-pipe, 3 inch catback autolite 764's gapped at .54 msd coilpacks msd wires bbk cai bbk pulley kit i think that's pretty much all i have for go mods Also im going to be getting ported Mach 1 heads, a set of cams from Comp Cams and a nitrous kit Should i go wet, or dry nitrous? i wanna keep it in the 75-100 shot range Thanks!
OK lets start with the baseline, the 96 cobras were not that strong they only did around 255hp at the wheels so if we use that as a starting point..........we can figure around 25hp for the full exhaust the cold air is good for prob 8- 10hp MAX and then the pulleys are always good for 10hp. The wires and coils/plugs might give you a hp or two but that's it. So your probally around 45hp over stock at best, also a tune would maximise the mods you have. I'm not good on the nos stuff, but from what I have seen most guys use the wet kits. you are around 300rwhp I would say
I've heard of you go a small shot like 50-75 a dry kit would be fine. but if you want to step yo game up to say 100-200 shot, get wet. I'd go with direct port so I can blow up my engine and get a new one, but thats just me lol
well my car has 98 motor... i dont know if that makes a difference or not thanks for the info snakebit, and fets you're a mad man!! :hammer:
Ok well the 98's were a little stronger than the previous year models......you might have another 10hp or so over a 96 4 valve
my buddys 96 cobra with FULL BOLT ONS made 295 at the wheels. 98 motors don't really do much they just came with ported exhaust is all for a few extra nothing big. 99-01 is when svt made a better n/a motor imo. I'll say around you'll put down close to 300 to the wheels.
wow! awesome! i can't wait to get her dyno'd and tuned!! :bunny3: How much of a power gain you guys think i'll get with ported mach 1 heads and cams?
you'll see over 300 with the heads. If you got the heads pulled I would think about maybe some cams and make sure your IMRC's are clean and good to go. Those IMRC will get gunked up and affect the tune alittle bit. A good breathing cobra will always help you out. Make sure you switch out the fuel filter and clean off the maf stuff like that. Your tuner will thank you trust me.
Cool man, thanks a lot guys!!! I'm looking to keep the car on motor for now and shoot some nitrous to give it a nice kick and all the tips and everything are more than i asked for!! I greatly appreciate it!! I love these forums! ! imp:
