How often do you change your oil?

castrol GTX higher mileage for the explorer and fram filter every 3k miles. and 4k on the 96 gt with mobil 1 filter and castrol gtx oil. the explorer is the DD and doesnt burn much but looks cruddy from being DD. reminds me....

i use mobil 1. finally got around to changing the oil after the head swap. filter had been on since 155k miles, oil had been in there since 158k miles, and i have 163k on the car now. took me forever to get around to it, and oddly enough the oil was still a dark golden brown.

usually change it every 2-3k miles. sometimes i get bored and change it early lol.

Technically synthetic oil should never have to be replaced because it doesn't break down. but i'm not willing to try it.

every 3000 miles my baby gets some fresh 10w-30 mobil1 . My jeep cherokee was a different story, I would go 5k-8k miles and thats because it kind of changed itself (rear main leak), plus you can't kill a 4.0 l-6 :hammer:

I dont drive it enough, so theres really no reason and/or point. Ive yet to change it in the mustang once since putting the other motor in it.

And I can't seem to hold onto anything long enough to require me to change it.

Motorcraft oil filter! and oil change every 5000 miles, oil is motorcraft 10w30 or extended life of some sort like valvoline or quaker state

Usually every 5000kms, which for me is usually June and October/November for the Car and March/October for SUV. Both my vehicles get the same treatment, Mustang gets oil changed every 5000kms with 5w30 full synthetic Mobil 1 and Escape gets 5w20 full synthetic mobil 1, both with motorcraft filters (FL1A for car, FL820s for SUV). Change coolant every 150000kms and tranny fluid(full synthetic) every 120000kms, although I have only changed coolant/ tranny fluid on my car once when I had the engine out .

Stang 5k or 7/8 month which ever comes first. The Fusion get swapped ever 5k but this coming oil change it's getting mobil 1 EP and do 7.5k oil changes and if used oil analysis shows it can go longer I'll go up to 10k between oil changes.
Stang MC 10w30; Fusion 5w20 both use MC filters.
