How-To: EGR Do it yourself MIL Eliminator

This is a quick and safe way to get rid of your EGR warning light, when you run your car without the egr valve.

Disconnect your EGR wire harness

You will need to go to radio shack and purchase 3 resistor's, 2- 3.9k ohm 1/2 watt resistor's and 1- 390 ohm 1/2 watt resistor.

Use the attached diagram, and solder the resistors as shown.

Good post. I had this same pic stickied at the top but it was all lost with the server upgrade. Stickied again...

My personal experience with this setup was success. I have seen it not work for others for some reason or another. I assumed they didn't do it correctly.

This is gonna sound stupid but how do you get the wires into the female connector? Or do you just cut it off and solder to the wires there?

thanks i just took valve covers off to do a valve adjustment and install some locking breathers and i had no intention of putting it back i can see where it lets exaust into my discharge air from sc and with 10#boost dont think i need any extra heat but i was worried about detonation if not done correctly so thanks for the good words
