ive got a 95 GT with eibach sportline 1.5" lowering kit, tockio blue shocks and struts, and Flowmaster catback (those are the only parts i figured might get in the way of the wheels) My question is i am lookin at getting my hands on a set of Saleen 18X9 in the front, and 18X10.5 in the rear. Would Nitto 305/35/R18 555R rub on anything? I currently have 17X9s with Nitto 275/40/R17 in the back, and experience no rubbing. any help would be appreciated, thanks -Matt

I need fatter tires in the rear, someone decided to put 265s on a 10 inch rim on my car :lame:

285s+ are expensive.

a 255 would be about the most I'd go on the front with a 17.

as for a 305....not a problem. a 315 fits with minimal work.

I cannot fit anything larger than 285's in my rear because of the quad shocks and the fact that nitto doesnt make a 295+ for 17" rim size...

I'm running Saleen Replicas 18x9/18x10.5 with Nitto 255/285's. I don't have any rubbing in the front or rear with FRPP F-Springs.

I'm running Saleen Replicas 18x10 in the rear with 285 out back and no rubbing (I did flip the quad just in case). As soon as I need new tires 315 will make there way back there.

hold on!!!! before u buy,
my cousin has exactly that combo and it rubs with people on the back .its a 2000 mustang gt and its not lowered.i would think they would rub more on a sn95.he didnt flip the quads or nothing ,the problem with saleen wheels is that they stick out more than other brands. u can bend the fender lip, that mighteliminate the problem, i know in his it will,i dont know how much more restrictive the sn95s are thanthe new edge.but it will rub with people and if ur thinking about lowering it might be worse,

Wheel hop is a bitch. My 79 f 150 had BAD wheel hop. Threw on a set of traction bars and now no more wheel hop. Now i can spin the tires all i want and no more bouncing/shaking to death.

on the fronts you should go no smaller then a 265 on the 18x9's IMO. On the back i think 305 will be just fine. I have 315/18 BFG Drag Radials on the back on a 10" wide replica saleen and i have minimal rubbing issues on the outter fender (only through hard turns). Also my car is lowered almost 2" and i have my battery over my passanger sider rear wheels (increasing the chance of rubbing). Also keep in mind that some tire's run a little wider/thinner then other brands with the same advertised size. For example: a BFG 315 is much wider then a Nitto 315. A Nitto 315 is more like a 275. All in all a 295 or 305 wide tire in the back would be playing it safe and still fill out the wheel nicely.

Thats prolly why my rear rims rub soo freakin much!.. I got old worn out BFG drag radials.. and a slow sharp turn they rub like crazy... and sometimes over bumps.. and my exhuast haha well its hot! from rubbing on the tire soo much... So you guys think, 305's, realigne the exhuast and control arms and lose the quads and I should be fine? Im not gonna be running a D/R I wanna get a regualr Radial since my car is really just a cruizer

man i just realized how old of a thread this was, i started it back when i had a different username. anyway.... i bought my saleens from oewheels, $150
a piece for 18X9 Chrome and $160 a piece for 18X10.5 chrome, you cant beat that "brand new" pricing anywhere. you will have to check in
5.0 mustang and super fords mag. or something for their number, there website is down right now, but give them a call, they had my wheels
out to me in 3 days.
