I’m getting tired of my tires rubbing and cutting the rears

I’m currently on Eibach Sportlines, no isos. My wheels are a square set of Y2K Cobra reps, and, the specs on them are 18x9 with 24mm offset. The tires are 265/35-18. Right now the front tires stick out from the fender about a half inch (I didn't notice that as much when I ran the export fender flares). And, as you would guess, rub on bumps and hard cornering.
The rears, with a 1” spacer, are fine but rub on bumps. I have a set of narrower spacers coming from Ferocious that should help that. I've got an appointment in a couple weeks to get my front & rear fenders rolled, but the front sticking out so far bugs me and no fender rolling is going to prevent that.
I could put the lower isos back in to help some, but I don’t want to sacrifice the low, in fact, I’d like to go a tad lower if possible. So I’ve been looking at a set of gunmetal Saleen wheels that have a 30mm offset, which should pull them in about a quarter inch and then get narrower tires, like a 255/35-18 or even a 245/40-18 to help, especially up front, maybe through a trade or just buy new outright.

I would also look at other wheel options with more offset but have always been partial to a Ford-specific type wheel but there aren't too many options. I even thought about having a shop machine the wheels I buy to gain another quarter inch or so of offset, being careful not to get too close to the strut.

Thoughts on swapping wheels & tires to help my situation?

Rolling the fenders will help a lot. I picked up a eastwood roller on sale for @ $100.

Yeah, it was hard to find someone that does it out here. But they've been doing a lot of cars over the years. Looking forward to getting that done May 10th.

These are the 18" Saleens with 245/40R18 tires on H&R Supersports. Those are stock height/width tires and I have no issues rubbing in the front.

Not sure if this helps or not.

Thanks, it does help the visual, I'm sitting a about 3/4 lower, but it appears that the tire sits in far enough

I forgot to ask, are those Saleens 18x9 with 30mm offset and are you running the 245/40-18 on all 4 corners?

Thanks

The fronts at 18x9s with 245/40R18s and +30mm offset and the rears are 18x10s with 285/35R18 and +22mm offset. No issues rubbing anywhere.

My old springs rubbed the inner fender well on bumps even going straight so I had to put in the H&Rs to bring it back up lol.

When I do order the new Saleen wheels, I think I'm going to get a set of 245/40-18s for up front just to be safe. I could always put in the bottom iso if I have the same issues you did Caboose.

I'm currently running Nitto 555s and have found a site selling the 245s for $135.99 each shipped free to one of their approved TireBuyer installers. Discount tire will more than likely beat that price with free shipping to my door.
I've bought a few sets of tires from them over the years and they'll price match - but every time I've found a cheaper price, they actually beat that price by about $10

Anyone semi-local want to trade a set of 245/40-18 Nitto 555s in near-new condition? My 265/35-18s only have 2 seasons on them (maybe 1,500 miles) with a little rub on the top-outside from coming in contact with the front fenders. No cuts, as the front fenders are more "rolled" than the rears, which have a pronounced "lip".

Depending on the condition of your tires, there may be some minimal cash required on your part for the trade

I'm going to flip the rears on mine when the wheels arrive because of the sides have been cut into slightly. And you know I can't have that :nono:

Let me know!

I just picked up my roller for $70 on eBay. Not Eastwood but its identical with a year warranty. Probably even made by the same company that makes the Eastwood version.
