I’m currently on Eibach Sportlines, no isos. My wheels are a square set of Y2K Cobra reps, and, the specs on them are 18x9 with 24mm offset. The tires are 265/35-18. Right now the front tires stick out from the fender about a half inch (I didn't notice that as much when I ran the export fender flares). And, as you would guess, rub on bumps and hard cornering.
The rears, with a 1” spacer, are fine but rub on bumps. I have a set of narrower spacers coming from Ferocious that should help that. I've got an appointment in a couple weeks to get my front & rear fenders rolled, but the front sticking out so far bugs me and no fender rolling is going to prevent that.
I could put the lower isos back in to help some, but I don’t want to sacrifice the low, in fact, I’d like to go a tad lower if possible. So I’ve been looking at a set of gunmetal Saleen wheels that have a 30mm offset, which should pull them in about a quarter inch and then get narrower tires, like a 255/35-18 or even a 245/40-18 to help, especially up front, maybe through a trade or just buy new outright.
I would also look at other wheel options with more offset but have always been partial to a Ford-specific type wheel but there aren't too many options. I even thought about having a shop machine the wheels I buy to gain another quarter inch or so of offset, being careful not to get too close to the strut.
Thoughts on swapping wheels & tires to help my situation?
