I know... Mustang forum... but I have to share.

Last weekend, I accompanied a friend of mine as he trailered his Ducati to the dealership for them to do a service. There was an anterior motive, in that he had keen interest in the new Desert X. Long story short, he requested and was granted a demo ride on the Desert X. The cool folks at the dealership offered me an opportunity that I could not refuse, which was to demo whatever they had on the showroom floor while their sales manager was escorting the demo ride to my buddy and another guy. I passed over expensive Ducati and BMW bikes and rode a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. Man, I was impressed. First RE I've ever rode. I have to say, at that price point, that's an amazing machine! Smooth shifts, smooth engine, torque down low, pulls from practically off-idle with no bucking, thumpy exhaust note, comfortable riding position, great cornering maners... and most of all it just felt right. No ill tendencies. If you've ever ridden a "new" bike and searched for where the clutch engages, had trouble finding neutral, felt balance issues coming to a stop... you'll know what I mean. This had NONE of that.

Other companies should take notice. They know how to build a bike. I hate not being in the market. i'd have bought it on the spot. I think I found my next bike to add to the stable.

I've read good things about them. My riding days are over, but if I was in the market, they would be on the short list.

I have been using my birthday the past few years as an excuse to get myself a ticket with xtremedrivingexperience.com to drive cars I could only dream of sitting in on a track. 3 years ago I did the GT500, last year the 911GT3RS and this year I did the Ferrari 488 GTB. It isn't cheap but you can get 25-30% off coupons if you look and driving these cars like I stole them is a bucket list thing for sure. Next year I am signed up for the R8, as well as possibly the porsche GT package.

So far the Ferrari was my fav. The horsepower of the GT500 to the rear wheels scared me too bad to really get comfortable with it, the 911 was extremely confident in the corners, but the ferrari felt just as good in the twisties and had a few extra hp for the straights where I got up to 142.

I'm partial to Audi and Porsche. I'd love to get my hands on a V10 R8. Lovely machine. For a time, I was looking for an early Cayenne GTS. Then I woke up and got my head straight. LOL
