I'm going for the swap. I was on good old Craigslist looking for an intake and I found an ad for an entire 02 PI with 110k but broken chain guides. For the price of an intake. It's a completely assembled motor minus the accessory drives. I PAID $150 FOR THIS 02 PI MOTOR!!!!!! Still can't believe I found that deal. Already got the intake on my car. Not BSn around.

Now I'm wondering what to do. My motor has 97k on it.
Should I freshen the heads up and throw them and the intake on my car?
Or just fix the PI motors chain guides and drop the whole thing in?

Another option I was considering was to put the pi top end on my npi block and take the compression bump while I build a the 9:1 block with forged goodies for a pro charger later down the road.

Thoughts?

Or am I overthinking it because I just found 60rwhp for the price of a tank of 93 octane??

I JUST...sold the heads with no cams for 250. So I got a free PI Intake, cams, and block then made $100. Intake is on my NPI heads now. Cams can be done the next time we get some nice weather around here. That should yield some decent gains for the price I'm being paid to have them.

Here she is. And I'm still working on the intake install now. Started at 9pm cause the stocker cracked and pissed coolant into the spark plug recesses. 2am now after a 2 hour break in the heat. Have to get it done before work in 4 hours.

Got it done. No white smoke or coolant leaks that I see. I was pretty heavy on the RTV around ALL of the water jackets. The car is missing pretty bad. At first I'm pretty sure it was coolant in the plug recesses, now I'm pretty damn sure it's the coil pack harness plug that snapped when I was checking for loose connections. Ended up pulling an all mightier on this one. Damn I'm tired.

No idea what the misfire was about but by the time I narrowed it down to the number 7 cyl., it cleared itself out. Anyway I can say I sure am impressed at the results of just the intake. Definitely noticeable. Much more responsive and less of a bogging feeling during low rpm cruising. Love it.

Awesome! Now lets build you a strong npi car!

Thats the plan. The pi cams are going in tomorrow.
Our 1/4 mile drag strips opening day is this weekend.
Hoping to be in the 13.40s range.
