I had a no charge issue on my stock 95 GT. I changed alternators three times and changed the connectors, checked fuses, fusible links, etc, but I had no power to the green/red wire at the alternator. This wire tells the alternator to "turn on".

I pulled the instrument cluster and found two of the gold strips at the left connector were touching. Using some brush on Super glue I used a toothpick to apply a dot on the loose strip. I held it down, replaced all the parts and I now had charging again.

if you have odd issues and the circuit passes through the IC, you might want to check those strips out carefully. I had several that we're loose or could come loose, causing shorts.

Thanks...good info. I worry about the PC boards too as they are 20+ years old & eventually will fail. Not like the old days with wires...
