I want to get some new ones or one. Right now I have 2 12" Kicker COMPs with a 300.1 amp and they dont pound too hard. Well they do but they like to bottom out alot. Can someone help a brother out, I want to keep my kicker 300watt amp, and build around that. I was thinking maybe some old Fosgates if I can find some. :help2:

Amp and subs retail for $1600 not counting the sub enclosure.

2 t110d4 Rockford Fosgate 10" subs in a custom built enclusure made from 3/4 mdf with the 2 subs seperated in the middle- i.e. 2 connected but separate enclosures.

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=4&series_id=32&family_id=12&item_id=91835&locale=en_US&p_status=

The amp is a Rockford Fosgate t10001bd amp.

This photo above obviously shows the subs- however, the amp is actually in the spare tire well with you barely being able to see it through the plexiglass. Everything is in perfect working order. One of the subs has a 1mm ding that is 1/2mm deep- looks like a pen tip hit it though I am sure no pen tip did. In the photo above on the left side facing sub you will see the dimples going around the sub- the 1mm ding can barely be seen just below the 5 o'clock dimple. The amp probably has a minor scuff or two on it.

Sold separately or with any of the above- I also have a 1farad cap, a distribution block, and I believe a dual amp wiring kit.

I also have an Alpine mrv345 4x75 amp. The faceplate of this amp is fairly scratched up.

I am not looking to ship anything- but if you are reasonably local to Baltimore, MD we may be able to meet.

I have about $2500 tied into all of the above equipment. The subs and sub amp actually only have about 4 months of daily driving use on them- and weren't cranked when they were used because they were in my wife's car and she doesn't pump up her tunes anywhere near what this stuff is capable of. 1500watts rms of thump isn't competition level- but when compared to most people putting in 560 watt total power setups in their cars it is nice! We sold that car about 5-6 months ago and I never got around to putting this stuff into any of our other cars. It looks more and more like I will put everything in my Mustang. If I can get nearly half of what I have into the system I will sell it and put the money into my car somehow, someway. But if I don't find a buyer for it within the next couple weeks I will put this equipment into the car.

Yeah I heard Diamond Audio was good, but the reason I wanted the old RF's is because I heard they were pretty good, and I didnt want to spend alot of $$$

Like how much do you want to spend? You don't have to go with the higher end Diamond's...the low ends are good too (see link below). Not sure what music you are into, but IMO, 2 x 10's are plenty. (1 have 1x10" Diamond sub w/ alpine mono amp...sounds great). Diamond Audio's are a very "musical" sub...they sound nice and tight, not muddy.

Well Ill listen to rap mostly with the subs since it has the best bass. I have 2 12" kickers now and they dont really want to pound. Like the woofers barely flex. I dont want nothing high end right now, what would be a good sub for the 300 watt amp I have?

Well I went to a local audio store that has my same amp with a different set of Kickers (COMP VRS) and those things were pounding pretty hard. :dunno:

U probably need to get a tuned box, talk to the stereo guys at your local shop an figure on what kind of frequency you are really looking to get out of your speakers. I run 2 JL audio w3's & JL 500.1 amp running it bridged its easily 650 watts and my speakers hate it, only because i have a box thats not anywhere closely built to what I want out of it. In other words my high dollar box is *shit... lol For some people it might be great but to the diverse music I listen too the box is the problem in my setup... Just thought i'd give ya my insight.

Do what you believe will make you happy. There will always be audio snobs out there. I don't know alot of the audio lingo myself- what the techno jargon means- but I know what sounds good to me and know that is all that matters. There are alot of "budget" systems out there that sound like a bag of chips and there are some high dollar systems that sound like cow chips.... But what is one person's bag of chips is another's cow chips and vice versa. Also, what is loud enough for one person may not be for another. If you think your amp is going to push a sub enough for you- keep the amp you have and find a sub that is matched well to the amp rms wattage wise. You will also want to determine what frequency sub you want- and know that the volume of your box and whether it is a bandpass, ported, or sealed box will affect the sound.

honestly...its probably not your subs....for one that 300.1 is a mono amp which means it should only power one sub..how is it even powering two?

those subs arent the best but they should still pound good in a mustang..I have an ap1000 profile amp that I was running with 2 12 inch infinity subs...
I am selling it for 75 bucks if you your looking for a good amp to run both those subs I believe its like 230 watts to 2 at 2 ohms but if you wire them at 4 ohm its 150 to 2 which would be perfect.

but the sound you get depends a lot on the amp and box setup...running a larger ported box can make a world ofa differance...but with 2 12s in a mustang and a good amp they should pound more than enough

Yeah its a mono amp, bridged I assume? I was playing around with the head unit and adjusting the frequency of the bass and what not, and now I've manged to get them to flex pretty good and pound pretty hard, but they are bottoming out. Im just going to sell the box and everything to someone, and keep the amp and buy 1 decent sub for the amp and build a box.

Basically, what would you guys reccomend for the kicker 300.1 mono amp? I want 1 good sub, no more then 200 bucks, and I listen to mostly rap in the car

in my opinion if your going to go with 1 sub..your gonna need something decent...maybe a type r but they are 500 rms ..and If I were you I would ditch that amp...a good amp can make crappy subs sound good...try to sell your whole setup if your gonna sell it
