Some time zone
how much HP??
if around 500, then go with a dual friction
if more than 500 go with the DFX.

The pedal pressure was alot like stock or very slighty lighter than stock. The
feel of the Centerforce DF clutch was great and also held up fine.
I was probably 205-215 rwhp at the time.Just really depends on the conditions
the clutch is under depending on if it will last or not.
I know quite a few guys that had problems with there Spec clutches and
some horror stories I wouldn't put a Spec clutch on my mustang if you
gave it to me for free.

how much better performance wise is a dual friction clutch versus a new ford racing "king cobra" clutch?
price wise theres quite a difference so its obvious which one is better.
not sure what i'm doing for big horsepower yet, and i know it wont be for at least a year. so taking that into consideration is it more worthwhile just to go with the ford racing clutch?
and anyone have any good/bad reviews on them?
thanx

the price of the clutches dont scare me away..because I think im going to need one soon. Its the installation that scares me..did you guys do it yourself or pay someone to do it? How much did it cost or how hard is the installation..I have read it is quite involved?

yea the clutches arent actually that expensive.. but the difference here for the dual friction versus the king cobra is about $200+

and for the labour, the ford book says its 6.4 hours to complete. not too fun of a job. then add more if the flywheel needs machining.
not sure if i'm gonna try to take it on myself or not.. my friend said he'd help me out cuz he did his on his 5-litre. anyone know how much more difficult it is on a 97 compared to a fox body?

from what i have seen, it should be easier on a fox, since it has the t5 which has the seperate belhousing...shereas teh t45 in the 97 doesn't.

oh and i had someone do my clutch for me, they charged me 250 because it was a buddy buddy kinda deal...expect to pay anwhere from 350 to 600.

yeah i did mine by my self i think i started a post of it on here somewhere it really wasnt that hard the only really hard thing was getting the top bolt off of the starter (lots of extensions and a swivel)...what a pia that was but it was well worth not spending 450 on labor it only took me like 4 days to do it but thats just me..i can now take my tranny out in like 2 hours so once you do it you can do it sooo easy
