In this video, I go over how I installed ventilated GT350 seats into my new edge Mustang Roush. I review a diagram as well as the actual wiring setup. Hopefully, this helps whoever is trying to sort out the wiring on S550 Mustang seats

Man, I had s550 seats in both my sn and my s197. The seats just sit way too high in the car. I swapped them out for 13-14 s197 seats that have the adjustable headrest and it’s way better.

looking at seat options from newer mustangs, the s550's do look good. Id love to find a driver seat charcoal/grey tweed replacement for my 96, but it aint happening.

Can the brackets on the seat be shortened? Like cut the mounting points off, cut off an inch off the bottom and then weld on the mounting points?

It wasn't super hard, but you ahve to get creative.

In an earlier post and video, I explained how I made it work:

Interesting! I am reusing the S550 seat rails with a low-profile adapter. I have plenty of room.

I wasn’t the shortening of the brackets really, it was the height of the whole seat motor adjustment mechanism. It made them too tall off the floor. Not really a problem with headroom but it felt uncomfortably high in relation to the steering wheel.
