Instrument Cluster Options?

I was looking at the Dakota Digital offerings, mainly because of the option to get the speedo in KM/H and Oil Pressure & Water temp gauges that read correctly, but having to disable the PATS put me off some what (& the price).
After reading up on these forums I have been looking at the Accu Tach upgrades, not sure if they ship overseas though? I would have to contact them to find out I guess.

I was just wondering if there were any other good options out there and / or looking for feedback from anyone who has done the Accu Tach upgrade?

Yea I did the wideband oil pressure mod from Accutach and I had Black Cat Customs print me up a new set of gauge faces. I'm very happy with all of it. The reading I got to be dead on accurate. I have the speedo driven by Dakota Digital SGI-100BT just because I made a change from 160mph top speed to 200mph and the DD module let me calibrate the speedo needle very accurately.

the digital gauges if I am not mistaken just connect to the factory connections so they still show the same misinformation such as temp/oil pressure as the stock ones do. They look different but show the same.

Another option is holley makes(or did make I have not kept up on it) a digital dash that connects to its own sensors but it is not the cheapest alternative by any means

How do the back lights line up on the speedo when the lights are on, I only ask because I put the white faces on my metric dash and they did not line up, had to buy another gauge cluster in MPH and swap the circuit board from my original cluster.

I have been looking at the Autometer packages as well, I like the look , they are expensive and don't seem to have a metric speedo option and still have the disable PATS thing to sort out.
Also I am told GPS speedo is not permitted over here.

I couldn't find anything by Holley.

I have looked at the digital dashes but prefer the old school style gauges.

There is a very small amount of hot spotting in some parts of it but that could be because of the LEDs installed, the dispersion pattern of them and such. But it does look fine.

Aside from a digital dash, your only option might be to create the custom gauge face by Black Cat Customs and get a converter behind it like I did (Dakota Digital SGI-100BT) and this way you can ensure the needle is accurate. Or maybe you don't have to as long as the readings you give them match what is already on the mph gauge faces (just converted to the equivalent km values instead).

I had thought about using a MPH gauge and recalibrating it, just don't know the options / ways to do this, I will look into it thanks.

Contact Mark Olsen/AccuTach Company in San Jose. He repaired, recalibrated (etc) my gauge panel couple years back. Been perfect ever since. Solid workmanship. VERY reasonably priced for the professional level of work. He goes through EVERYTHING: tests everything so he’ll make it absolutely perfect and he cleans it inside & out. Fast turnaround and great packaging /shipping.

Update: I have ordered the Temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge kits from Accutach, Mark was very professional to deal with.
Also ordered senders and fittings.
Looking into whether Black Cat Customs can do a face in KM/H for me, waiting to hear back from them. If not I will just keep what I have, I have already done the white face upgrade.

Is it that they recalibrate it or is it just a different skin on the top? I would have thought it was just the top.

I would suspect that AccuTach recalibrates it from mph to km/h because of where he lives/drives. Then, additionally, a skin in km/h so everything is tied together.

No, just the gauge face, Black Cat got back to me, they do a KM/H face from their Canadian site, unfortunately they don't ship overseas. :(

Just find a 'freight forwarding service' that's based in Canada. There'll of course be a fee and a waiting time but you can get what you want.

Mark Olson has been a staple of the Mustang community for 20+ years.
A great guy, really.

I looked at the New Vintage offering as well, available from CJs who will and have shipped to me but at this stage I will stick with what I have.

I had a quick look at freight forwarding but it looked too expensive and too much of a hassle to be worthwhile.

On a side note shipping or more correct buying issues with both LMR and American Muscle who will not sell to me or anyone else that does not have an American based credit card.

I was thinking about recalibrating the speedo, but this would affect my odometer adding more miles than it should which is undesirable.
