But who don't like to go fast? So please, someone learn me about this here swap por favor
Plain GT40's....the 5.0 explorer (I know years matter in the 5.0 explorer but am not sure which ones) and the 1995 R and a few marine engines. GT40Ps came in the 93-95 5.0 cobras.
GT40P Heads came in v8 Explorers and Mountaineers from after early 97. Before that they came with cobra heads (Regular GT40).
The P heads are a version of the GT40. They have the same intake valve size but SLIGHYLY smaller exhaust valves and have different sparkplug positions. They Require different headers because of the the plug placement. They flow about the same if not more in some areas as the regular GT40s yet with the same size intake and smaller exhaust.
GT40p did not come off 93-95 cobras....they were put on the 97 explorers...im going this setup very soon...the gt40ps 1.85/1.46 valves (compared to 1.85/1.54 for the standard GT-40). The exhaust port was redesigned and is more efficient, thus the ability to use the smaller exhaust valve. This actually works well since to get equal flow numbers the velocity must be higher.....exactly what we want. Also with the P heads you will need to buy the special P headers a friend of mine ran 12.5s with gt40ps,cam and gears here my gift to you...enjoy http://www.stangpro.com/html/articles/gt40p_files/gt40p1.htm
