I just picked up a 1994 gt with a 306, trick flow heAds, x303 cam, forged crank/rods/Pistons 12:1. Edelbrock intake, 24lb injectors, under drive pulleys, 70 mm throttle body, 1.6 roller rockers, bassani exhaust, 4.10 gears, and I'm sure there are more things i haven't found, the guy didn't know if it has a tune or not? Would it run very good with this set up if it didn't? What do y'all think this car should run? It's a 5 speed

Wouldn't hurt to take it to a tuner, at least it lets them check it out, prevents a catastrophe....lets see some pics!

I will post some pics up in the morning, everything seems solid, I just think it should run alittle faster on the top end than it does

On the passenger side under the glovebox, right hand side. Pull off that kickpanel. See if you see a chip in the computer

Np. That setup should net atleast 325 rwhp in my opinion. Not sure about Texas since I'm in new york. I'm sure one of the texas members will chime in here. If not make a new post in the garage section asking about tuners in texas, might get more attention

Welcome to the asylum.
IMO with those mods it would barely run without a tune. But that's not saying the PO didn't get some generic mail order tune. You'll get much better results with a dyno tune

Just because it has a chip, doesn't mean its properly tuned. Best bet is getting a dyno pull.....cheap insurance.

So the guy should go spend 300-600 on a dyno tune just in case? Man.. If the car runs fine no issues I would leave it alone?

No, he should go get a dyno tune because a dyno tune is always beneficial. And when it comes to buying something built by someone else, even $600 for a good dyno tune is ultimately cheap insurance against blowing up your motor.

Anyways, welcome to the forum. Good score from the sounds of it. With such a high compression ratio, are you only using premium fuel? What are your intentions/plans for that beast?

I put premium in it last night I don't know what he ran. The reason I posted is because it seems someone fast I just thought it would be faster, but I am coming from a built 2012 duramax so that may be the problem? Lol
