Just ordered SLP Loudmouth for 96 Cobra

I have the Bassani catted mid pipe and it was still too quiet. I was hesitant on the LM cat back because of how loud, but I really like the look of the quality and ease of garage install. Since you can add bullet mufflers pretty easily, I decided to try the LM. If it's too loud, then just add bullets.

I'll probably cut out the stock exhaust today so it's ready for the new exhaust Wednesday.

Any comments, suggestions, other?

I liked the sound of the loudmouth. With that catback, you can order loudmouth 1 or 2, the 2’s have packing in them like magnapacks. Then slp also had the power flow muffler that was more like a magma flow full size muffler.

I took of the stock exhaust yesterday and moved the car around without mufflers. Hmmmmm. That's loud. So..... maybe I'm getting old and I ordered the LM2 mufflers. I don't want to get pulled over before I make it to the empty church parking lot to do donuts.

Dilemma - The LM1 cat back just arrived. Do I install it tonight or wait for the LM2 muffler to arrive tomorrow?

Installed LM 1 cat back last night. The LM2 muffler delivery is delayed until Friday, so I decided not to wait.

Not as loud as I thought it would be. Doesn't sound bad. I think I could daily if I wanted, but I won't. It's barky and raspy.

Hoping the LM2s add a deeper tone.

Plus - lots of pieces so easy to get over the axle on Jack stands.

Minus - lots of pieces so a bit more time getting it all fit together and lined up.

I put the SLP 1 on my 03 GT about 6 years ago, and I have no qualms about the look or sound.

Make sure all your clamps are really tight, after they heat cycle, tighten them again.

Right. I was planning on checking the alignment of the tips tonight and then tighten everything again. If it looks good, I'll wait to tighten them when I put the LM2s on. Nice looking clamps, but I noticed a couple times when I had them "tightened" I would go to the other end and align and tighten and the piece I just tightened would slip apart. So, maybe it's a tighten then tighten some more with these clamps.

For sure. I had my tailpipes fall off a couple days after I installed mine. Had to tighten the clamps a couple times then they finally help.

I had a catted x pipe and loudmouths on my white 02 gt. I didn’t really care for the sound. It was still decently loud with the cats but the tone wasn’t great. I currently have an off-road pro chamber and loudmouths on my 03 gt and it’s loud. It’s not a bad sound but it’s loud. Sound is subjective but the only setups I really like are borla s types, pypes m80s and flowmasters. I hope you like what you have, especially since it’s already in your hands lol.

I think I'll like it better with the LM2s. Drove it a bit more after tightening clamps today and it's just off from what I wanted.

LM2s are where it's at. Quiet low idle tone. Sounds deeper at revs. I dig it.

Sweet! Glad you found a happy medium. Personally, i favor that authentic racecar sound....louder the better

FWIW, I had the SLP LM on my 98 Cobra that I took to road courses. Here's one video of my car passing my buddy's car (only recording that isn't onboard). I'm in the blue one.
