I got my tax return check and was online going to put the order in for Steen Racing Stage II Heads. Well, my wife saw the screen and found out how much they cost me and well, lets just say that "I changed my mind about buying those heads." I ran into a deal tonight that I had to jump on. $700 shipped for: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260082926192&fromMakeTrack=true ... Anyway, I was wondering who has done a PI swap using Windsor Heads. And if anyone has put aftermarket cams in the heads. I was wondering if I had to buy cams for Windsor heads or if it didn't matter. I know that Windsor heads have cam gears that are pressed on and Romeo heads have cam gears that are bolted on. I was just wondering. And if anyone else has done a Windsor PI swap and think that there's anything else I should know, please let me know. Thanks guys......
any cams made for PI heads will fit, the only difference in th windsor heads are the press-on gears and the different holes for the valve covers.
Yeah, but I like to think of it as she influenced my decision, though. .... I made out okay, though. I have the heads, intake manifold, and all gaskets and bolts for the PI swap. Maybe I'll send them out to get ported and polished before I put them in. Along with the heads, I'm going to do new timing chain sets with tensioners, BBK LT, BBK O/R X, 3.73's, MSD 8.5 wires, MSD coil packs, maybe a set of St. 1 or 2 cams if I can find them used, tuner, and a few other little things... Know anyone who is selling any of thos things?
If I get cams for Romeo heads, do I just put them in place of the cams and pressed on gears on my Romeo heads?
Aftermarket cams that are slightly used are hard to come by for Windsor heads. Do you know any for sale? Stage 1 or 2 NA cams?
yeah you should be good i you bough romeo cams or some aftermarket cams then bought some romeo gears youshould be good
Could I buy Romeo cams and just use my stock cam gears? Or are they basically shot after pressed off?
