Since owning my 03 GT, I've found that when I punch it, it feels like there's lots of noise and no acceleration. It's faster to accelerate with 1/3-2/3 throttle.
Finally felt like messing with the car again so decided to figure out what is causing it.
I just redid the fuel system in my 06 BMW so figured I'd start there on the GT too... But I don't know what correct behavior is, so hoping someone here might comment on these readings:
All readings taken Parked on Driveway in Neutral. No load.
Cold Engine:
30 psi idle
Blip WOT throttle: Shoots to 40/45 then drops to 25 when releasing then settles back at 30/idle
Hot Engine:
35 psi idle
Blip WOT throttle: 35-40 psi
Release Throttle: Back to 35
With hot Engine, unplugging the vacuum line to the pressure regulator has the pressure sit steady at 45psi. I've seen videos where doing this causes it to sit at 60 psi so I'm wondering if my pump isn't able to maintain pressure?
I'm also open to suggestions on what else to check. I have new spark plugs that I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I pulled one or two of the most accessible plugs and they actually look fine.
I also checked engine vacuum and it's right at 20.
Then our sunny Florida weather turned to a downpour in 30 seconds flat so here I am
Also: New clutch and no slippage so it's not the engine overpowering a bad clutch causing the problem either.
Thanks!
