Has anyone installed the LMR FR500 steering wheel in an 99-04 Parchment interior? They come in black and charcoal, so not sure which would be a better match.

I love the texture of the wheel, but don’t think the colors will be a good match. I can maybe tape off and paint the 4 “spokes” in parchment, but not sure how the black or charcoal wrap would look.

I've seen it done a few times. Charcoal would best match your interior. Black is for 94-98.

Problem is i have more black in my interior than charcoal. I'm trying to coordinate. I have black shifter boot, e-brake boot, cupholder, and the parade boot i use is also black.

I plan on getting a styling bar soon and it's the same debate. Dark Charcoal vs black.

Just wish i could find some pics where someone tells me what color they used. I found some, but I can go either way on which color they selected (black vs DC).

Black and DC are very different the dif is night and day. Is that your interior in the first post? If so i would go DC on the wheel. Black woupd look way out of place.

That is my interior in the first post.

I'm pretty sure DC is the way to go here, but I'd just feel better if i could track down a pic. I guess I will head off to FB and see if anyone answers

I have an old pic of when i first got the car and had a DC seat in there. Trying to project this to the wheel but I need more of a visual before I go buy it.

Welp…after a long search. I think I found an example of black. At least that what I assume this is.

Gonna say this is a no go. I’d like to see DC before I cross this off my list

I found a couple on LMRs site, Mike.

Thanks. I think those are black as well, which doesn't look as out of place in the 94-98 interior with the black top of the dash.

I'm starting to think i'm going to pass on this idea. Still want to see a DC wheel in a 99-04 parchment interior first.

Both of those pics were in the Dark Charcoal FR500 reviews on LMR. They may use the same reviews for all FR500 steering wheels though, I'm not sure.

They do. Same exactly pics were under the black wheel reviews as well.

One person does say this is black. Not exactly a great pic however.

I'm too sick to get the car out for a good shot, but trust me, the DC is the one you want. I have the same interior color, sort of. Also be aware, the wheel foam may come loose and you'll need to shoot epoxy in with a hypodermic needle setup. They have a tendancy to start rotating on the ring. Ask me how I know.

Dug up a few pics that might help. Along with the "epoxy" method.

Awesome. Thank you for the pics!

A little concerning that you had to fix the wheel. That would annoy me if that part started spinning as that's where I hold my hand on the wheel when driving manual.

Wonder if it was a bad batch. I have had mine since 2017 or so. No issues.

Mine started about 2yrs after purchase. 1500mi per year, mostly track. After the epoxy, no issues and feels solid. I do agree it should'nt, but...

Plan B

Saw a few wheels redone with wraps from this company. Really came out nice. I've done some wheel wraps in the past, so not against trying this. I have a spare junk wheel so my plan was to redye it with the LMR paint which I already have, and then wrap. They do have some browns/greys which might be a better match. Going to see if i can get some samples.

Not a high priority project. I might take the funds and just get a convertible styling bar instead. That one i know i'm getting in dark charcoal.
