Hey! Haven’t been on a forum since 2015 so this is kinda fun, guess you have to pay for photobucket now eh?
So this isn’t my first mustang, iv had a 95 347ci stroker I bought that was t boned that I re bodied with a 96 way back in the day. I needed that nostalgia feeling again so I bought a 2000 mustang v6 I’m planning on restoring and learning more about auto body on. Maybe a LS swap here and there we will see. I’m calling this project Tightwad and I’ll start a build post soon! Happy to be here and I’m excited for advice along the way.

Now… let me see if I remember how to post a picture…

Let me know if that worked

yup photobucket screwed most of our builds. You can upload directly to the site off of pc if you click the little picture frame above the box and either enter an address or upload your own pic

Oh it’s nasty underneath, I’m in the process of taking all the rust off and using a rust converting primer for most of it then I’m using another converter and spraying the inside of the frame

Again… let me know if my picture comes through. File was to big to upload the other way so I used Flickr

dang that does look like some rash. Are the torque boxes and the area under the strut towers in good shape or the brake vent areas are known to be the worst.

It all has some rust for sure but not too much that I can’t fix it, I’m up in Canada so rust from road salt isn’t a new thing for me. This is about average for how many miles it has. I was originally going to start on body work but I couldn’t ignore this, the front of the car is good with only surface rust. Just the back is hurting
This is after a wire wheel and then a flapper disk. I used that primer after this and painted it.

What did you use for primer and paint.

Nothing too fancy. I’ll have to go check the brand name of the primer but the paint was just tremclad rust paint. The primer was recommended to me actually by a local very large farmer, they use it on all there equipment and he said it was unbelievable how well it worked. The other rust converter was Por15

Mine isn’t that bad, but similar. Same spots and all. Vancouver is a little nicer to cars though and considering mine came from Victoria, I consider myself lucky for now. I will be following along for some rust repair tips lol

I’m over in Alberta which isn’t as bad as Ontario or Saskatchewan where they just dump straight salt on the roads but bad enough haha I have a build thread going your welcome to follow. I try to update it regularly
