Guy installed a new alternator. He bought a 3wire and has the white wire just dangling. Says it's charging but the battery/charging indicator is illuminated. Is there an easy fix? See pic.
Wow that looks bad. If it’s illuminated it’s not charging. The 6g alternator (which is what it’s supposed to have) doesn’t need that white wire but that’s an older style 4g alternator.
What’s he asking for it? I think I’d walk. It’s missing a vacuum line, that’s the wrong alternator and alternator bracket and it has a crappy aftermarket intake manifold.
Not necessarily. I think it’s either installed wrong or is a junk alternator. It’s not new looking at the pictures. I’d check the harness first. But personally, I’d eventually swap it back to 6g and the right bracket. Also the harness is different. That’s probably why it has a new harness.
alt looks scetchy as fuck , if you do get it take that alt to whatever parts store get the right one use that pos as core charge , i may i have a couple of those brackets
