M112 Swap = Terminator aftermarket intake parts?

Okay, so I've finally decided to do the M112 swap. Here's how I'm going to go about doing it.

I'm going to buy a split port engine, the whole engine, and use the parts that I need. That's how I'm going to drive it for a while.

Then, my next step is going to be getting a forged 4.3L stroker set from SSM, ported lower intake manifold, and the M112 adapter kit.

Here's where I got to thinking. If the M112 came off of the 03-04 Cobra's... does that mean I can bolt up an aftermarket Cobra throttle body, a 95mm MAF, and have a SVT Cobra Cold Air Intake, as well as this?! http://www.americanmuscle.com/whipple-supercharger-0304cobra.html

I'm willing to skip getting a used M112 if I could use that 2.3L Whipple even if it is $4,000. Or, should I just stick with a M112 because the gains aren't going to be worth the extra ~$3,200 (I find M112's going for 800 used).

Of course, I'll upgrade the drivetrain, and put in a nice lumpy cam with a nice exhaust set up. Who do you guys think I am not to do that?!

Oh, and would I also be able to use any kind of underdrive pulley?

I have been wondering these same things. From what I understand, the whipple would generate too much heat and we don't have an intercooled kit out yet

Ive wondered this too... I think you could? It should physically bolt up, the supporting mods might be a pain though.

After a little bit of reasoning, I figured that the Whipple just isn't worth it. Maybe if someone were willing to create an intercooled version (looking at you SSM), I'd consider dropping $4,000 on a roots-style.

So, now my second question still stands... Aftermarket Throttle Body, MAF, and Cold Air Intake still a-go? It makes sense for them to fit.

1st, Whipple is not a roots blower, it is a twin screw.

But the real point to make is that them M112 is already oversized for the 3.8L/4.2L. Spending the extra $3700 won't give you anything but a name on top and a lighter wallet. M112s used go for $250-400. I would NEVER pay more than $400.

Aftermarket TB and air inlet tubes (cold air intakes) for the 03/04 Cobra can be used. But again, only once you are at the point where those parts are the weak point / bottle neck in airflow. We're talking 350-400 hp before I'd waste money on either.

Wow! Thanks so much!

Now, this brings about a new issue... Is a M112 4.3L even capable of 350-400HP?

I mean, pulleys, water-meth injection, ported and polished EVERYTHING, cams? Does someone make cylinder heads that fit bigger valves?

Super six does sell big valve heads, or you can have the seats machined and switch to LS valves for a little more power. And yes, LilRoush made 500 on an m112 4.2

My intake on the test car made 330 RWHP on a stock 3.8L with a mild cam.

330RWHP on a stock 3.8L Split Port with mild cam?

Or, your intake could flow up to 330RWHP?

My intakes can outflow the M112. They could be used with a twin screw if the heads/lower could keep up.

This is my first customer car. It made 330 rwhp with just the M112 set up and a mild cam.

Yep, and still the haters are everywhere.
"V6 can't make power without breaking the bank."
"You HAVE to have an intercooler, the M112 makes too much heat."
"You need more than just a couple grand to beat a GT."

So how much does the 330hp V6 have in that setup? Money-wise?

You can get the complete blower kits used for $1200-1500 these days. Takes an afternoon to install, then pay for a dyno tune or order one from VMP (Justin has a baseline M112 tune based on my intake).

Edit: As for over all money, I have no clue. 99/01 Cobra front/mirrors, Mach 1 hood/shaker, Bullitt scoop deletes/sail panals, Terminator spoiler and side skirts, IRS, 2000 Cobra R brakes, full suspension.....the list goes on. He had taken the best from every version of the New Edge factory Mustangs and created a hybrid of them all.

The car is with it's second owner, but still in Texas with another V6 enthusiast. It's about to become a single turbo/auto V6.

The down side to it is that there isn't room under the blower for enough of an intercooler to make a difference. You'd have to add 2 - 3" in over all height to make it worth the trouble.

Matt, I am thinking ported eaton, and meth kit with your plate. On a forged/cammed 4.3. Should be good for 450 or so yes?

A 4.2 with a mild cam, meth, and 10-12psi should make in the 420-450rwhp range.

I've been considering selling my setup lately so I can move onto other projects.
