I used to use tapatalk, but my fat fingers created too many typos. Took 3 min to write a sentence after rewriting it 40 times..

Well I guess I can start the updates. Since my car came back from GTR, it sat in the garage. Until I moved houses, where it went 5 miles away, and sat again..

Been driving the car for weeks at a time since I live a lot closer to work now. Car runs great. Needs a tune up, needs exhaust leaks fixed, and vacuum leaks. Also have a power drain somewhere as my battery keeps dying. And I have a lot positive terminal that needs to get fixed. Otherwise, it runs good. Still has power. Cant drive it a lot because of no lights and loud exhaust. But I tried to get it out there.

Oh I had one headlight. But it's for a customer [emoji3]

I had some headlights cut a while ago, and had these projectors etched over a year ago. These are the Morimoto MD2S 4.0 etching with "Madd Retros" and a damaged checkered flag.

The headlights chrome has been stripped and projectors adjusted. And since my logo is the G37C-R shroud, it was a no brainer to use that as my shroud. The only problem, this shroud is MASSIVE. It wont fit..without a fight.

A comparison pic of what is left if the shroud.

Got them cut to size. Fits pretty snug. Also cut open a DEPO side marker.

Dechromed the housing and shrouds. Sanded them with 600 grit sand paper. Cleaned them with a 2:1 alcohol/water solution and wiped clean with a cloth. This removes lose debris and any oils from human hands. Then grab the heat gun to dry off an excessive water, and warms up the parts for better adhesion. After that, spray it with 3 coats of primer. Let them dry overnight. Next morning, take them out, go over it with 1000 grit to smooth out the surface. Then again clean with solution, wipe clean, and heat it up to dry and to make the paint stick better.

Decided to paint the shrouds gun metal grey. The paint leaves an almost matte finish once it dries.

I wanted to mount a halo behind the shroud so it lights up the plastic insert but there wasnt a halo with a big enough inner diameter to clear the projector, and with an outer diameter that fit inside the reflector. So I decided to paint the shroud inserts satin black. And the reflector was painted Gloss Black.

I didnt want the shroud to have a matte finish. So I sprayed 2 coats of clear. Sooooo much better. You can actually see the metallic.

The gloss black comes out glossy. But it's not good enough for me. So I sprayed 2 coats of clear. Much better and shinier.

Next, I took the projectors a part and removed the shield from them. Taped up the solenoid and the hinge. Scuffed it up with 600 grit and sprayed it with Engine Enamel in Dayonta Yellow.

This creates a passive demon eye. The yellow will shine through the lens, just as a demon eye, but with no light! It will be shown at all times as long as no other light is shining through. Looks pretty cool huh?
