May 2018. I decided I was done with the ProCharger/E85/MegaSquirt bit. I wanted to be able to drive the car longer and farther. Averaging 13mpg on E85 didn't do much for that concept. Also E85 stations are few and far between. The MegaSquirt doesn't do so well with altitude change, unless you turn the car off and on to allow the MAP to take a new reading. There are many elevation changes around here. MegaSquirt also has so speed input, it won't shut the cooling fan off at speed, which lead to another problem down the road.

So, off comes the whole setup. Back to factory EEC and pump gas. I had already relocated the ignition coil and battery for the ProCharger install, so I went ahead and left those where they were. I added a Bob's catch can in the original battery area.

May 2018. Dog is my copilot. I took the Mustang on a 150mi drive that I'd been wanting to do. That route has now become one of my regular weekend drives. Not a single problem. I was very happy with the change.

July 2018. The car has overheating issues. Only with the air conditioner on. I watched it in the garage, with no air conditioner, the fan kicks on low, temperature drops, fan turns off. With the air conditioner on, the fan comes on low speed, but as the temperature begins to rise (95°-100° ambient temperature here in the summer), the fan shuts off instead of going to high speed. I end up pulling the CCRM and found it was cooked. The solder melted off the high speed fan relay and the board was damaged.

My theory: MegaSqurt only triggers high speed fan. It's always running, since there's no speed input to shut it off at highway speed. Driving on the highway with the fan on caused excessive current draw and smoked the CCRM. Or its just a POS.

So I soldered the damaged pin, and it would work intermittently. I ended up getting a new CCRM. Here's some photos of the damage, as well as the new and old one side by side. I haven't had a problem since.

July 2018, 120k miles! Back when I first got the car I accidentally sprayed some interior cleaner on the gauge cluster. The spots are etched into the plastic. I'm sure at some point in the future of this build thread you'll see it come out and get polished...

August 2018. Somehow I survived all this time on the factory stereo... it was time to change that! I searched for a deck that didn't have all kinds of chrome and flashing lights. I ended up with this Nakamichi NA205. Looks good, and matches the interior. Stubby antenna installed.

August 2018. With the ProCharger and accessories sold, I had some money for other Mustang mods. 2000 Cobra R Brembo brakes here we come! Along with that I installed Maximum Motorsports stainless brake lines. Right before this I had also installed the Ford Performance Cobra rear brakes, but I wasn't nearly as excited about those so there are no photos...

Yes, big difference! I had Flowmaster mufflers at the time and they created quite a drone in the cabin. The insulation didn't remove the drone completely but did make it quieter. I think my favorite difference was the doors. They sound completely different when they close, a very satisfying sound!!

Yes, you are absolutely correct! My center console and shifter area used to get pretty toasty. After the insulation, it was greatly reduced.

As far as weight goes, I'd be surprised if the whole thing was 20lb. A small price to pay for the increase in comfort.
What brand deadening did you use on the floor?

Here are some screenshots of the products I used on the floor. All purchased on Amazon. The jute was MAC's auto parts 1/2" thickness. The Noico 80mil sound deadener is what I used on the bottom of the interior door panels. I've used it on a lot of other stuff too, it's very handy. The turn signal flasher on my Town Car was insanely loud so I wrapped it with some of that.

September 2018. I bought a Canon AE-1 Program, and got into shooting film. Enjoying the car more and more, I took it for a drive up the Sandia Crest road, which is just 25min from my house. Beautiful mountain road! Also came across more fog.

That's crazy they let people get that close to those dishes.

Because of that, it's a great place to visit. Excellent photo opportunity! Also there's a museum, and tons of information along the outdoor walking paths. The other great thing is there's only ever been 4 or 5 other people there when I've gone to visit.

There are 9 antennas on each leg of the grid, in a triangular shape, for a total of 27 antennas. There are actually 28 antennas, so one can be in the repair facility. Here's a couple more pics for you...
