My rear Nitto 315x35x17 555s are finally worn out after 30,000+miles. I am looking at a new set of Nittos but I am also curious about the MT Street comp.

I do a lot of highway driving and and the Nittos were great for my car Good handling, good wear, I really have no complaints. I just want to see what others are having good luck with. I would also like to stay in the $175.00 - $225.00 dollar per tire range. No Sumitomo"s...

Thanks!
Robb

555s suck in the rain. I've read that Street Comps are pretty good in the rain. I might try out the street comps

My 555s have scared the crap out of me in the rain at 70+ a couple of times. Luckily it doesn't rain much here in NM. Discount tire is supposed to call me back on Monday with price and availability on the street comps.

My friend said the exact same thing! Hydroplaning like a mofo on the highway. MT's seem to be good in the rain. But yeah I'd rather not hydroplane on the highway lol, not fun. I might get the Street comps, 275/40 out back. Almost as wide as Nitto NT555 315s

So I ended up getting the Street comps in the rear and l liked them so well that I got a set for the front too.

Summit was out of the 315 so I got them from Discount tire. I paid more that I wanted to but I needed them. I decided to do 275 fronts instead of the 255 that I had before.

I got the 275 from Summit. They had free shipping so they were a much better deal than Discount.

I'm very happy with the tires. My commute to work is 130 miles, mostly freeway. I have been driving the Mustang because it's a lot more fun than our Jetta... It rained pretty hard yesterday and the Street comps were great even at 85mph.

I couldn't find much in the way of reviews for them but I like them better than the 555s.

how was the thread wear on the 555 on the fronts? I live in socal so it rains once every year. And what suspension mods do you have?

I had the 555s and the 555rs. Overall the 555 imo is a better buy. But. I switched to the nt05 and haven't looked back.

I'm on my second set of nt05s. 295/35/18s currently.

I had over 30,000 miles on the 555s so I thought the tread wear was great for such a soft tire. Suspension mods are in my sig.

I did have my car aligned when I got the tires...
