May be a dumb question but what are those? LED's? Interested to see how this turns out been thinking of getting rid of the ugly green.

You are correct LEDs and sockets for the cluster and dash, as you prolly also guessed red... But they have many colors to choose from. $10 on eBay for sockets and led bulbs.

Got at the cluster today after work...

Headlight knob pulled right off the metal tab holding it on.

(4) 7mm bolts held the cluster in

Pulled cluster bottom first and disconnected the plugs using tabs on top and they came out with a little tug.

Going to let cluster thaw out tonight and replace sockets and bulbs tomorrow in the heat, WINTER SUCKS!

Thinking about opening it up and putting some chrome rings around the gauges but I'm still on the fence.

Head light knob suffered a little damage from it being so cold out the plastic chipped away without even trying when I was trying to release it.

At first a couple of the bulbs weren't working....

So I pulled the cluster out again and switched the bulbs around and made sure all of them were tight.

*Ill try to get a better picture in the dark but I think they are all working aside from the bulb near the middle.

Finally got a picture in the dark.. Fixed the middle bulb but it's still not as bright as I want. I think I'm going to pull the face off and scuff off the backing.

Changed the oil and replaced the EGR back pressure sensor and hoses because it was one of the few sensors I didn't replace last winter during swap. I also bought a polished fuse box cover.

Should be getting new K installed here within the next few weeks.

Get that fram filter off of there. Use mobil 1, motocraft, or k&n.

Also, you should use 5w-20 oil in that thing.

This is the first time I've used fram I usually order a royal purple filter when I order my oil but I didn't this time I do have to admit I like the grip on the end of the fram filter made it easy to tighten.

Im not opposed to 5w20 but what's the reason behind your suggestion?

The modular engines dont like thick oil. The bearing clearances and cam journals are real tight. The lash adjusters like the thinner oil also. Then, to top all that off, Ford changed the spec and said to run 5w-20 in the modulars.

Learn something new everyday! I'll be swapping to 5w20 next oil change. Thanks.

Lol sorry. I've always been told how $hitty fram filters are. Always went with wix or the oem replacement for my dailys. My mustang always gets K&N or motorcraft filters.

No thanks I appreciate the info! Usually I grab a royal purple one when I order oil but I didn't this time and I'm regretting it now.
